Anyone think they might announce the initial lineup when VIP tickets go on sale, January 6th I believe.

Signed,
Anxiously waiting for the lineup

Well, lets make up some rumors then...
to get us through the next 3 days.

How about CSNY and, I don't know, DMB...

Does anybody know of another Interstellar Meltdown going on for this year... that was pretty amazing setup i thought that they did for last year.

Please no - I'd love to see CSNY, but both would be WAAAY too expensive - they'd come at the cost of other bands. I'd hate to see Waka swing for too big (read: expensive) a headliner and end up putting themselves in 10KLF's shoes....

I'm with moedunk. I'd rather have 5-6 more "upper level" bands than have to shell out for DMB or the Y. portion of C.S.N.Y. (both of which I am a fan)

cburger, I don't have any "official" information about it, but it is my prediction that you will be very happy with the electronica selection at Wakarusa this year. :D:D:D:D

I hope so, my purchase of our VIP tickets will be solely based on the initial lineup. Hopefully some cheese.

Hahaha!
No offense taken 1 bit Zack!

That is what I love about this festy. All of my friends can have totally different opinions on different acts but when it comes down to it we can still share in our favorite weekend of the summer!

Who would you like to see?

one of my biggest hopes is that praang has a return performance. that last set in 09' blew me away! Speaking of praang, is anyone planning/wanting to go their 2 day show in Denver Colorado? the dates are the 29th and the 30th (just look them up on pollstar). A buddy and I are already planning on going... :D

*edit for typo*

they have never sold tickets without first giving an intitial lineup...prepare to be dispappointed i am affraid.

one band that is on there for sure, or it better be dammit, is ghost land observ. they canceled their show in kc in mid oct. and the venue said that they would be at waka, venue is big waka supporter and took with faith.

i havent logged into this site in a few years and saw what they are doing and dont like it,
in an effort to sell tickets as fast as possible they are using a tacky sales pitch to get as many out the gate as possible until people see that waka lineup is not that great stacked up with the other festivals around the country

Clintshirley - I have purchased tickets to Wakarusa in previous years without knowing the line-up (via the holiday ticket special). So have many others.

I'm purchasing my tickets based on six previous experiences of Wakarusa being a highlight of my year, and a musical smorgasboard virtually unmatched in the Midwest. I also know more than 100 of my favorite party friends (many met at Waka) will be there to enjoy the experience with me. If amongst over 60-70 bands and 4 or 5 magical days in the Ozark forest a person cannot find $150 worth of entertainment, then that person probably shouldn't buy a ticket.

Another option would be to just wait for the lineup to come out, and make a purchasing decision at that time.

To immediately think that the lineup for Wakarusa will be sub-par because they are selling tickets prior to lineup announcement is erroneous reasoning, IMHO.

and plus...majority of festival do atleast one presale before the lineup goes out. and waka last year and im pretty sure atleast the year before, announced that tickets would go on sale on whatever day and then on that same day the initial lineup would be released. coincidence, i think not.

I trust the Waka crew to bring us some juicy jams come June. I am not worried.

I would love Yonder and Cornmeal, though, if anyone is listening!

I'm ready to buy my tickets tomorrow. I hope the Waka gods will smile on me and give me the lineup when I get them. If not...I'll find out after i buy!

I have ultimate faith that the lineup will rock, just like it always does.

^ I mostly like to use inappropriate hippie cliches. Well, actually, I mostly like to give Zac $hit... But if I was to define heady I guess it would be as follows:

Heady (hed e) adj - to be on a superior wave length force than the ordinary "Brahseph" or "Brahsephette". To have full cognitive understanding of all that is crunchy, sick, dank, schwilly, or phat. - i.e. - "I met this Dime Betty on lot at Phish ter who taught me all about mathematical intergalactic enlightening. She was super heady, brah"
