I was wondering what sort of mountain biking was available from the campgrounds without having to drive out to a trailhead. Anything technical?:?:
Thanks! Jeremy

There are more technical trails around there than you mind can begin to imagine.
Some people (not me of course) got in trouble last year for exploring a gas line trail before the festival. This trail was across the road and SOMEBODY got lost in their ATV golf cart.....
Took this somebody an hour and a half to find civilization, in the dark. And that was on a motorized vehicle.

I agree with Paully on this one - the trail system in the Ozarks is unbelievable and technical as you could as for... I used to go mountain bike riding on White Rock back in the day, and I remember getting close to lost numerous time... Maybe it's just me, but I can't see finding the time to leave the fest. grounds - but thats just me....

I am so happy to hear there is freedom to roam around.
I'm a festival newbie with one Bonnaroo (2009 VIP) and both Rothburys under my belt (being from MI).
:D Anyone wanna post their ride? Maybe a group ride can be arranged (how about at night!)?

JohnnyB has a pretty awful story that stems from riding around Waka on a bicycle at night........be careful.....he ended up in an arm sling for the rest of Waka.

Don't I know it. :o
I once joined a local group of bikers for an autumn equinox ride on some trail with which I was very familiar. Except that it was at night and I had no lights.
I made it about halfway through in the fading dusk before wrecking on a steep downhill.

I find the Waka grounds to be technical enough :)
Last year i was making my way from the tents to the RV grounds on my bike. I was less than sober. I hit what looked like a soft patch that turned into a ditch. Flipped head over bars into said ditch. I jumped up to see a group of folks checking me out from the lawn chairs. i let out an enthusiastic WAKA WAKA! They did the same.
I love Wakarusa.

Thanks! KB takes mornings and afternoons, I take evenings and early mornings. Seems to work for the most part.
The admin knows when I usually send in my ban requests, so he checks his e-mail about that time and bans if he needs to. We can ban most, but not all situations that arise.
It's all about the grid, yo ;)

by technical do you mean hilly and difficult?
Herbie

yeah, hilly and difficult.
i'm not after huge hills but i like to ride rough trails that many would have trouble walking. then again, i myself might have trouble walking that week too.
