We are looking for folks who would like to do a little paddlin' during the day while at Waka. We float the 'berry several times each year, and are looking forward to hopefully catching some good water if the river is up while at the fest this year. Let me know!

I would LOVE to. Being a native to the area keeps me down on the water as much as possible but I'm planning on working with a vendor again this year so I dont believe I will be able to during Waka this year. Hopefully this post keeps going. If I end up just going to Waka without working I will most definitely be down for some paddlin'.

The question is not if, but when to float. I've floated the MB in early spring, but never as late as June. Is the music schedule set yet? If the water is up and everyone can decide on when sounds fabulous.

I've always taken my canoe to Wakarusa. However.....I've only been on the water once out of all six years......and that was at dirty ol' Clinton. I'm sure I'll bring it this year, but it's pretty hard to cross off a few hours away from the festival for a float trip.

Makes my truck a helluvalot easier to find, though ;)

Last year we had good water into July. So I'm hoping, we will be blessed again this year. If not then I will just hang out on the Mountain all day. If the water is up though, the Byrd's to Turner float only takes a few hours. On by 9 off by Noon. Then up the mountain to get our groove on. What could be a better way to start your day?!?! :D

That sounds like good times to me. Nothing is better then hitting some good water early in the morning then off for some good music!!

The spring rains may have FINALLY arrived. We had close to 2 inches Sunday night through Monday, but the ground is soaking it up like a sponge. The Mulberry River is only up from 1.2 to 1.6. We've got a chance of rain thru the rest of the week so we may finally see a rise in the river level by the weekend :D

Doesn't get much more fun than 3-4.. I would love to join a float party. I've been on the mulberry many times but I just picked up a used 12' whitewater canoe.. Can't think of a better time to christen her.!

It won't be the same water, but hopefully the rains will continue periodically til then. It's running at 2.5 today. Here's the link for the Turner Bend gauge. This is updated every day, sometimes twice a day.

Mulberry up over 7 feet today. That his big and flooded at that level. Get another maintenance rain and the water will defiantly be there during the fest.

If you want to have an idea if there is enough water in the creek to float a boat check out this site http://www.ozarkpages.com/cgi-bin/stages.pl?ST=level it is color coded and gives a range of flotable levels. Go to the mulberry river one and you will know whats going on.

or go to turners bend website for there latest reading and rental info http://www.turnerbend.com/index.html be aware there guage reading does not correlate to the usgs reading that is from ozarkcreek info.

Also birds outdoor center is a god place to rent from also.

My group went down the trail to the waterfalls last year. We only made it to a smaller one than the picture on the site. People were jumping off into a pool of water. It was pretty cool. I can't wait to jump in this year. It was an extreme slope down to the creek however. It took us about 20-30 minutes down and about 45 or so back up. One of our friends didn't make it back up for about ten more minutes due to breaks. And yeah, it did get closed down because someone got injured. Hopefully that doesn't happen again this year.

River's at 2.3 today. Good, floatable water. We need 1 good rain before Waka to keep it there. Looking like the best chance is Monday.

Do your rain dance!

Thoughts and prayers out to the campers in arkansas that got caught by that flashflood. They have found 12 bodies so far.
