I love the Silent Disco. I think all the headsets should be playing the same set instead of two different ones.

I agree, I don't want to figure out who's dancing to which DJ.
Bonnaroo's was really fun. I stood next to a girl with many hula hoops holding out a sign and was filmed by the Conan O'brien show. Never made it on the special they did, but I felt funny when I asked if this was for the Bonnaroo DVD and found out Coco was filming me.

hmm... i'm intrigued by the 2 djs aspect... I imagine one set of headphones sort of winding down to a chill mellow part, people are just swaying, while the other half of the crowd is just getting all hyped up and dancing hard... looking in from the outside would be hilarious... some people just standing, some people jumping up and down and raging...

There is a button on the headphones to switch back and forth between DJs. So you can have the best of both worlds!

I kind of like the 2 dj thing going on at the same time. It makes for very entertaining people watching as people are grooving to different jigs.

? = how do they regulate this? Confine everyone with a fenced in wall? What if the people with the limited amounts of headsets never come out again? Is there a time limit or anything? The same 2 DJ's for all 4 days/nights? Is it only during a certain time of the day/night?
Ahem...for people who have obviously been to one.

I think the one at Roo is within a gated off area. Other than that, i have no idea.

You would think someone figured out the number of people that can dance in the allotted disco space and they will have a corresponding number of headsets. You leave your driver's license as collateral for the headphones as you enter....

I certainly hope it doesnt cost money. Im not paying moneys just to dance on a hard floor. Ill go grab the real music for that.

it didnt cost money at bonnaroo...you just stood in line, got your headset, and then danced away...im hope it doesnt cost money as well.

Recognizing that this forum does not allow for trading of $ for goods I won't ask how much you would pay to dance in a confined area with headphones at a music festival when your alternative is multiple live bands and hundreds or even thousands of people sharing the experience.
I do find it interesting that payment of cash would even be considered. Obviously a participant would already be giving up part of their time at the festival as payment.
There are resources, and someone has to pay for them. I'm not implying that there's no cost associated with the silent disco. I'm just interested in the willingness to pay aspect.
I've witnessed silent disco at Bonnaroo, and people do indeed participate. Even with 85K+ people there was not always a line at the silent disco booth. I assume that means it will be rationed to a prime time only event at Wakarusa. I would be surprised to see long lines unless there is a tremendously skilled DJ (correct term) at the controls. Perhaps that's the draw that I'm not understanding.
It does make me think that a creative person person or group might put together a set of costume headphones that would allow them to hear the nearby live music and dance near those who hear the recorded music wirelessly transmitted to them. Would they dance in time to the music or each other?

I just thought they might charge a few bucks to help recoop any damage to headsets. I've never seen this done before and didn't know of the equipment used or the process. I'd hoped to hear it was free. But it wouldn't have shocked me to hear it cost either

I love the Silent Disco. I think all the headsets should be playing the same set instead of two different ones.
why does everyone say that? i think that 2 different sets is a good idea. that way you have an option...if you want to jam out and dance with some people and they're listening to the other set, just switch! easy fix! I bet they play pretty similar styles of music anyways.

just think if there is two sets then u ca be dancing one way ,and others around you dancing to a different beat :) i like this
it says the head sets can get both beats by switching the button

"Those who were dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn't hear the music".... I always thought that quote should be a Silent Disco slogan :) I'm ready to throw down at the Silent Disco!!
