Who's planning on doing yoga? This is something that a lot of festivals do, and I always say I'm going to do, but have yet to actually do it. But, I've started a more regular practice the last few months, and will definitely make it this year. Sounds like a great way to clear my head before the start of a new day. Anyone else?

I would love to do it, but I don't know if I would be able to keep up. We only do it once a week at work.

If we just did sun salutations the whole time it would be sweet. Its the same routine over and over again. Not a hard pattern to follow.

I assume that there will be a lot of new yogis there, so I doubt it will be anything to intricate. I love a good, muscle burning workout, but I also love to get into the gentle classes to just relax and meditate. That would probably be the best kind of session to restart the day, imo.

Its as easy as pie. Just a few cycles can wake up anybody:

I've promised myself that I'd make it to Yoga at Waka this year! I always have intentions of going...just never happens. I'm feeling like this is the year though. *crosses fingers*

Ditto on the always meaning to make it, but never actually showing. I, too, have found myself upon the Yoga-wagon this year and plan on being there each morning. I always feel better when I make myself do something good like that in morning.

BTW, where and when?

Ya, I was just poking around trying to figure out WHEN Yoga will start. Under activities on the site it says it'll be at the Outpost, and it looks like music starts there at 9am...so, I'm guessing it will be around 8am...or earlier...? Yikes...see, here's where things go wrong for me. 8am yoga at home is grrreeat...but just a bit early for a festi. I wish they'd move it to a grassy area and have it 'round 9am. ANYway, if anyone finds out anything official on this...please post it.

^-- ditto this.

8am is just a bit hard to swing with the music goes all night.

maybe you should look at like a nice nightcap yoga... stay up til 8, do Yoga, sleep until 2-3

I'm digging the yogicap idea. I'll be there if you yogis promise to be there! It might be the first yoga I've done while wearing my sunglasses and drinking a bloody mary, but hey, we're all friends here!

ha the classic guy with a beer smoking a cig trying to do yoga!

i subscribe to the idea of getting fully stretched in between sets. even in the middle of a set I'll drop down, stretch my legs/back/groin, pop back up and get back to ragin!

I think I'm gonna make it to a yoga session or two this year..

I'm hoping for something of this caliber:

From yesterday's email:
Yoga - From 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday through Sunday, festival-goers can reconnect with Big Mother through yoga at the Satellite Stage. Yoga is free and is the perfect way to prepare for an intense day of enjoyment - Wakarusa style.

Forgive me if my questions have been addressed, but I didn't wanna real all the pages to catch up. Will this be beginner friendly and led by an instructor? Or more of a just team up and go at it kinda thing? :)

Yoshimi

I don't think that has been addressed actually. I was thinking (hoping) it would be a real instructor, but the time (830-10:30) almost makes me think it's a free for all type thing. Who knows!

They had the morning yoga going last Waka I made it to (2007) and there was a real instructor. My guess is that they will go along the same lines and have someone leading that can instruct to multiple levels at once.

Om :)

My neighbor from New Jersey made it one morning and said it was fantastic. It was a long walk from our campsite so I never made it even though I was still up at that point every morning.

Sorry red dreadlock neighbor from NJ, I am horrible with names, great with faces. Thanks for the back advice!
