I always read about VIP's potluck and because I'm all about sharing meals and making it easy. We should plan our own potluck dinner. Of course, we have Thursday afternoon taken care of...Red Beans and rice. Maybe Friday??? What ya'll think??
Are we having Bacon Alien Breakfast Friday morning????

The nights are a wee bit harder to structure gatherings around because of the music selection available. Is this sort of like the 1337 Chompdown catz?

What about 4:00 on Friday...Railroad Earth is at 5:45 and Dirtfoot is at 6:00??? Any other suggestions??

I can't remember if there are grills at the sites, but we're bringing a large cast iron grill pan that can sit on a 2 burners stove.

VIP is fenced and guarded, not RV reserved.

We could do a primitive chompdown, I guess, but I wouldn't vote for right before RRE. 'Possum and squirrel before dancing can get a little dicey on the guts, if you know what I mean.

Chompdown is open to everyone, lemur. It's a community breakfast...anyone can come enjoy it. I believe they are talking about having a potluck for the reserved campers on Chompdown Street. (which is technically Wildnerness Street)

I think trying to organize a dinner in the middle of all the music will be quite like herding kittens. IMO the only time a potluck would be successful will be Wednesday night like the VIP folks are doing. After the long drive and setting up of shelters, a nice meal sounds like a great idea. Plus you can make something at home that won't require much prep work for sharing.

i like where this is going......last year we got in just after midnight and it was quite amazing to open the first beer, some snacks wouldnt be a terrible idea either

My bad. This is my first Mulberry Waka, and I didn't go to any Chompdowns at Clinton Lake. I was confused... getting that primitive proletariat attitude going already.

I'd have no problem with a vegan potluck....if bacon grew up from the ground. The thing about pigs is that they are just soooo darn tasty. I'm a firm believer in the food chain. Anthropologists believe that the reason early humans developed a smarter brain was that they harnessed fire and began to cook meat. The protein then began to work its wonder on the early hominid brain.

No sense in fighting hundreds of thousands of years of evolution ;)

No music, but plenty of laughing will start 4:00 p.m. sharp on Wednesday! Gotta get camp Schwanky set-up before the tunes get pumpin!!! As long as you're there by Thursday, I think we can manage. Is it June yet?

Last night I made (and froze) the dish I intend to share at the RV Reserved potluck Wednesday night. I hope other people like fiery hot jerk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamaican_jerk_spice) chicken.

Absolutely delicious - and it burns sooooo good!

I don't think many folks will want to wait until midnight for a potluck dinner. How about after sunset on Wednesday? Not too early, not too late? Weather permitting. YMMV. Etc.

Baked a couple pans of pineapple squares this morning for the potluck. Had to fight off brothers, sisters, nephews and niece. Those squares

sh!t yeah, my boss is already aware...sometime last week about Wednesday she asked me to do something and it took me like 3 minutes to even acknowledge her, she asked me if I heard her or if I was already camping...i said camping.

The more i thought about dragging my grilll and table and all that crap down to Chompdown street, the more it (making pizza) sounded like work.

I'm back to Plan A: hummus. pita dough's rising now two or three flavors of hummus w/ pita &veggiez and maybe some BACON/horseradish dip w/ chips appears to be the plan at this point.

gotta go, the dough's a callin...

Well I didn't get to make anything special tonight. With everything goin on and the mail losing a ticket it's been a hectic day. We'll definitely grill up something good to contribute though! Wow I can't wait to get on the road... and then off the road tomorrow.
