As some of you know, I broke my camera at Chompdown. I was totally depressed that I was done shooting for the weekend. Dave offered his camera for me to borrow, but I was concerned about being responsible for someone elses gear. After a little thought and the beautifully kind words of reassurance from Dave, I borrowed it. I am so glad you were there to help me out brother, thanks to you I was able to shoot the rest of the festival and got some great shots. Thanks again Dave for being such a great guy. You totally saved my festival! Much love.
BTW - camera is in the shop and it's only gonna cost $150 to get it fixed.

yeah, man. that's great you're gettin it fixed so cheap. Thanks again to Dave for helping out my homie. He was so sad after the chomp when i finally had a chance to sit down and hear the story. if felt like hugging him... but he smelled pretty bad, so a few pats on the back was a far as I went :)
Phil, I'm coming to Tulsa probably saturday the 19th... you, me, amanda, travelphan... any others interested... we're getting together... it's gotta happen.

Dave is just about the friendliest person I know.
When he wasn't running his own recording setup at an otherwise uncovered stage, he was busy delivering much needed and appreciated rounds of beer and water to the tapers section so we didn't have to leave our rigs.
He brought his own EZ-up and a few chairs to the Backwoods Stage on Sunday to help folks beat the heat - and didn't even stick around to enjoy it himself. I'm sure he was helping a little old lady cross Shakedown Street or off performing some other good deed! :D
"Thanks" just doesn't seem generous enough. You rock ~dave~~wave~!!!!!

DaveWave is an example of true, unselfish kindness in action. I am very proud to call him my friend! EVERY time I saw him at Waka (many times!) he always had a smile and a contagious happy vibe.
Sorry if that sounds like a eulogy...lol...LOVE YOU DAVEWAVE!!!

Thought I'd just lump all the tapers into one group rather than picking favorites

Once again, Dave has confirmed that he is an amazing person. He was all over the place sharing his love and happiness. Whether he was taping shows or just handing out hugs, this guy brings energy that is unexplainable!
For the last few Wakas, I have always said I would never ride the ferris wheel. It's just not really my thing. I'm not scared of heights, just scared of the carnies abilities to assemble structures. I ran into Dave and he offered me a free ride on the wheel. After a little hesitation and some reassuring words from Dave, I agreed. It was AMAZING to see Waka at sunset from the top of that ferris wheel! I took some great pics from up there and really enjoyed the experience. It was another Waka activity that I needed to experience, and without Dave I would have never done it.
Another story: I was sitting in the revival tent on funky Saturday and looked out to see a volunteer emptying the trash. He was having trouble lifting the container and the next thing I know, Dave has jumped in and is helping pour the trash out. I took a picture of it that I will share later, Dave had no idea anybody he knew was watching. He just jumped in there and helped where he could.
Dave's passion for music, his infectious smile, his willingness to help, and his all around great attitude are one of the things I most look forward to at Wakarusa. Thanks for being who you are, Dave Wave!

Kudos to that!!! I don't have enough fingers to count the hugs that I got from Dave!! He always has such a beautiful smile on his face. I feel so bad that I didn't think to bring the tapers waters and such...I can promise you that won't happen again!!! Much love to ya Dave!!!

This was the first year I didn't do this myself. Don't know what happened, but I won't let it happen again.
Dave Wave is the undisputed Mr. Congeniality of Wakarusa!

i'll chime in and give some props to Dave! probably my best waka forum buddy as i'm lucky enough to live in the same state as him... he always brings a smile to my face when i run into him at shows (which is pretty frequent, but never frequent enough!). dude's hooked me up with a ton of ridiculously awesome music i'd probably never have otherwise heard just because he knows i'll dig it (which is rare with a music snob like myself). i still think of him whenever i'm rockin out to blue riddim's "Restless Spirit" or any of the Burning Spear albums he's passed my way. i hope i keep seein ya at shows for decades to come Dave!

if he wasn't active his own recording bureaucracy at an contrarily baldheaded date, he was active carrying abundant bare and accepted circuit of beer and baptize to the tapers area so we didn't accept to leave our rigs.
Awesome spambot!!!
