You have to realize this is Kansas. It could rain, it could sleet, it could snow for all we know. You could even see a tornado if you're lucky...

Id rather see Robert Randolph than a tornado
The latest local weather forcast from KC (50 miles east?)...is for thunderstorms off and on Thursday and Friday. Don't forget to wear your rubbers!

The radar right now looks like it's gonna rain like the end of the world out there this morning. Gonna be fun setting up...

That was one of the worst drives of my life! I've done it solo before, but the torrential rain in Colorado paired with my nearly bald tires made for a stressful beginning to the trip--but it was dry for my entire drive through Kansas, so that was nice. Hopefully there won't be a line or very many people in primitive camping yet, 'cause I don't see myself getting there 'till around noonish. Then again, shade might not be that much of an issue this weekend after all.

There was a good old fashioned thunderboom this AM but the rain has stopped and streaks of blue sky are peaking through.
Given the forecast, mud-capable shoes are probably in order, but it should be warm enough that even if wet, we won't be unhappy.
The last few weekends have brought storms to Lawrence but they have been mostly intermittant. Our storms are pretty groovy, visually, and can often be short in duration and punctuated by long stretches of warm sunny weather.
I think a sunhat is a good idea, forecast be damned.
