So Shpongles comin to WAKA. Thats awesome. I see in the pic that Raja Ram is standing next to Simon Posford. Anyone know the real word? Will it actually be SHPONGLE w/Ram? Anyone know for certain? Cause usually Raja Ram cant get into the US because of Visa problems and what not. Please verify, or help verify, cause this could be the electronic set of the weekend if hes there.

I mean. Theres plenty of electronic, ultra-sonic ball-bustas all over the place this year. But Posford w/Ram is legendary.

Twisted says its a DJ set and I truly believe it will be one. I don't know the last time Raja Ram set foot on U.S. soil.

What I'm really interested in is whether or not Ott will actually have a live band this year.

Never seen OTT with a live band. Thought he was pure DJ. Did he have one last year? No, right? I think...

He was supposed to have a live band but from what I heard he just did a DJ set. I was really looking forward to his set but I lost my wallet at Widespread Panic and that threw me through a loop and I couldn't do it. Although I did get to see a bit of Umphrey's that night which was a MUCH better set than the day before.

yeah that was a huge letdown. they emphasized in the lineup that it was "Ott with a live band" which made it one of the sets we were most looking forward to. we forced ourselves to stay up for that set and spent about a half hour going " okay, so where's the band?". how could they screw that up so much? Check out "Hallucinogen in Dub LIVE" from twisted records...THATS what I thought we'd be seeing!

I've seen Shpongle twice. Once at Wakarusa '09 and once at the Granada in Lawrence, KS. Both times it was just Simon. Raja wasn't in attendance. On Twisted Records site it says that he is playing a DJ set, so I bet Raja won't be there. I would love to see live Shpongle, but I'll take what I can get.

Ott does live band performances. In fact I believe he used to play keys in Shpongle when they did live performances. But last year at Waka he just did a DJ set.

Well it looks like Waka cleared things up by changing the artist lineup to say Shpongle (Simon Posford DJ Set)

Maybe Ott and Posford will play together. I bet they'll give us a treat of some sort.

LOL, I thought this thread was a lobby to get The Band "Mental Extensions" to Waka.. I was like "Oh my Cow! I'm not the only person who's ever heard of this band!!!"... I now see it is a lobby for Raja Ram + Simon (which would be pretty interetesting..) nontheless, they are a good electronic act lol (myspace.com/mentalextensions) if anyone is interested... their album -inner reality- is on fileshare too.
