Hey ya'll.. my fiancée and I just moved to Fayetteville from N. Michigan, and I have to say that Wakarusa had a huge influence on out location. We attened a festival like this one on a smaller scale at home every year and could not bare the thought of a festivaless summer :D So I just have a few questions for anyone of you Wakarusian's. We are thinking about camping in the West Woods, we don't mind a little walk to the main stage, heck we enjoy it, but is the trail lighted at night? Are there solar showers or payed showering and how many are there? Are the vender's for food expensive( like $, $$, $$$) or should we solely rely on preparing our own grub? How far is the river from the main venue, walking distance or shuttle only? Can you think of anything that we couldn't life without at Wakarusa? Oh I saw on Stub Hub that you can buy seating at the stages is the nessesary, because I have NEVER sat down at a festival and if I did, it was on the earth ;) Thanks so much your input will appreciated!

The trail is not lighted, but is not difficult to follow.

Paid showers - there's probably 15 stalls or so

Vendor's food is pretty damn reasonable for a festival, IMHO. I do a combination of festy grub and camp cooking, but could easily afford to eat festy food the whole weekend.

The river is shuttle only - 2+ miles up/down a steep incline that is Hwy. 23. There is a waterfall/river access that can be hiked to from the festival grounds, but it's about 1.5 hours and you need hiking boots.

There is no seating at the stages that I know of. I have no idea what StubHub is offering.

What is this "chompdown" that I have been reading about? Logic says it has something to do with food and music. But I could be wrong.

Chompdown is a communal breakfast that is 100% organized by Waka attendee volunteers and supplied via 100% donated materials. Live music to enjoy while noshing, and more good vibes than you can possibly take with you.

Last year the Chompdown served an estimated 1000 people. All free. One love.

Its a pretty far walk in west woods and u have to cross the hwy. the showers r $5 a peice and as far as food? I personally think that the food is expensive. I got a plate of nachos and it was $9 ... If thats reasonable to u, then u got more cash than me lol. no seating at the stages. bring umbrellas. drinks r reasonable tho.
