I have to chime in here and say I saw him at a fest last year
and it is some of the most annoying schticky crap i have ever seen
any festival who wastes a slot and money on this guy is taking that away from ANYONE who would be more deserving
its clown music for a circus, cant stand it
hes just a goofball
im sorry , but the fest i was at was small and they wasted a good headliner slot on this guy and it just plain sucked

I disagree with treetop's assesment of That1Guy's talent, but do understand that some might not find his brand of kool-aid especially tasty. I think he's amazing and interesting, and well worth a mid-tier slot at any fest.
Sure, it's gimmicky, but he pulls it off well and jams out some very good music with that contraption. It's better than a laptop dj in my book.

Yeah i really like That 1 Guy. I've seen him four times, last Sunday being the latest. I enjoy all of his shows. that instrument he's created is awesome i think. and to top it off he is a really cool guy. we shot the sh*t for a minute on sunday. I'd probably catch him again if he was at Waka.
I saw him jam with buckethead at Waka in 08. that was incredible.

cburger07: His Buckethead jam was AWESOME! I don't really care to listen to his albums, but seeing him live is a real treat. One of those things that has to be witnessed in person, I guess.

To be fair, does anyone look bad when they're playing with Buckethead? Everytime I've seen him with someone he's sounded better and the other artist has sounded better than they did apart.
If you've seen That One Guy two times was the second time different than the first? I saw him at a club in Omaha and later at Waka. I started to wonder if his songs were appreciably different, not only his sets. I liked his set the first time. It is a good thing to see once.

ive seen that one guy 4 times, one of them being that buckethead jam. i enjoy his shows and music everytime.its just a fun show with some funky tunes in my opinion. if hes around ill probably see him.
I've seen him twice - two years apart, and it was pretty much the same setlist. I dig his stuff, but would like to see more new material. (That said, i haven't seen him in 2 years, so he def. could have incorporated some new stuff in that time).

We saw That One Guy this past weekend with Mofro and his set was quite a bit different than the one we saw last year.

He's a talented musician (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That_1_Guy) and created a fascinating instrument, but if he were on the lineup I'd probably opt for a different band since I've seen him a couple times recently.
FWIW, here's my recording of That 1 Guy's set at Backwoods Stage from Sunday last year:

and here's my recording of Buckethead's set from Waka '08 when That 1 Guy came out and jammed with him (track 16):
