This is our first Wakarusa and our first festival VIP and we are really looking forward to everything, but I have a question. My girlfriend does not drink beer. I could and probably will drink her and my fair share of beers, but is any liquor (vodka) or wine available in the VIP beverage tents or is it just beer? Not going to let it ruin the trip if not, but we need to know if we are going to have to buy vodka and put it in a plastic jug to bring into the campsite. Any help would be greatly appreciated! We are looking forward to meeting some new friends and are bringing the love from Austin in the Lone Star State - look for the Texas Flag with a Steal Your Face Star - Kaydee and Frank!!!!!

If you're asking if they have it in VIP, the answer is no. All VIP drinks are listed in KB's post. "Free drinks in VIP is beer, water, and soda." Bring yourself some in a plastic jug, or my personal favorite...

I love those bags of wine for Waka! I don't carry them around with me though :P I keep one in the cooler and fill up a reusable bottle to walk around with.

There is a wine vendor on site though. Comparable prices to the cups of beer, so at least as good as the bag, but probably not the type to satisfy anybody snooty about it.

In Australia, they call this "bladder juice". Hilarious.

I recommend this one for wine drinkers who want to avoid decanting into plastic bottles. It's not bad at all.

I was thinking about making the Apple Pie but ti hit me that I can't use bottles. Then I read that those wine bags are reusable. Has anyone had experience with this?

I have a stainless steel 'bottle' I pour booze into so I can leave the glass at home. You can (re)use plastic bottles - thoroughly rinse out a milk, juice, gatorade, etc. container...

I have the same problem as your girlfriend... im not a huge beer drinker and last year I prolly had 5 free beers all weekend....but my boyfriend def drank for both of us. I brought my own alcohol and used the free soda provided in VIP. I walked around to every stage with a bottle of liquor and/or a cup of mixed drink and no one said a word to me...which i wasnt used to coming from Rothbury the year before when we got searched at every gate lol.

Im glad your flying ur Texas flag (im originally from Texas)... woot! :)

Hello everyone, this will be my first time VIP. I look forward to meeting new people and enjoying the tunes. I have a couple of questions regarding taking drinks from VIP pavilions.

Will I be able to take my beer from the VIP drink pavilion at the revival tent or mainstage area to the backwoods stage or outpost tent? I read des1982 post about how she was able to walk to every stage with her cup without being hassled, but is this normal for everyone with VIP passes or just her experience?

Also, could someone inform me of the approximate beer serving times at the fest? I've read multiple threads from years past with some people saying from noon to midnight while others stated beer was served after midnight at the mainstage. Is soda and water at the VIP pavilions only available around the same time as beer is served or 24 hours?

Thanks everyone, any info regarding these questions is greatly appreciated.

Welcome and make sure you make it to the VIP Potluck Wed afternoon/Early Evening!

Last year water and sodas were out in big iced bathtubs all the time, beer was served at 12 noon? until approx 1AM? I do not have the exact times but I never had a problem with getting enough beer in my belly! I recommend you bring some "late-night-early morning" beverages to bridge any gaps
