OK people. Here is a checklist of everything I could think of to pack. Hope you find it useful. It's pretty thorough -3 pages. You need microsoft word to open it.
http://www.filesupload.com/userfiles/cahbaron/wakachecklist.doc
And here is a checklist for your trip to grocery store before you leave.

This is a GREAT checklist folks! It's extremely thorough and would be quite handy to have, especially if you've got a limited amount of time to get all your stuff together.

There's a bunch on the market. Chaser is one that you can find at Walgreens. I don't know if they actually work. They kind of remind of diet pills or something, but I have friends that swear by them.

awesome list, so thorough!!!! It even includes astroglide!!! I bookmarked it for the future.
As for pill-less hangover med, I have a infusion of redclover I use. Bout 5-10 drops before drinking does the trick. Ironically, I infused it with everclear

Thanks for the list slick.
For me, lots of protein helps prevent and cure hangover. I'm not big meateater but if I drink, bring on the chicken or the tuna salad or the catfish or the burgers! Works wonders.

 I can't see the list because I don't have microsoft word. And I would love to see it because it could be said that I have OCD when it comes to making lists. I have my standard camping list but want to see if there is anything I forgot. Anybody care to cut and paste and e-mail me? It would be much appreaciated! AnnaAllyn@yahoo.com

No I didn't take that pic, but hope to take many like it this year.
I went to google images and typed in WAKARUSA.
it popped up, so I shared.
I love google image.
For instance if you were to type in something crazy like say:

ocomik- Funny, that is something I would probably enjoy doing. But I?ll pass on that project since last year at the gates they gave us a small booklet with the stage schedule on it.

Ajones ? Glad to help....BTW when is that hula decorating activity going on? I?ve got some new juggling clubs that I need to decorate, if that is OK.

Just wanted to share how awesome these lists are! They have really helped with my sanity. We leave tomorrow (yikes) so they will really be put to use tonite. I have shared the lists with a ton of non-forum members that are going as well. They all have been so appreciative, especially the ones that are parents. Just wanted to extend that thanks over to you, Slick!
As for decorating your juggling clubs, come on over! I have scheduled the decorating as one of the 1st activities, Fri around 10am-ish. If you come after that, you can use whatever is left over. But we have some pretty cool tape that has been donated, so I recommend to come as early as possible. I would love to see you hoop and juggle at the same time!
Sorry, did not mean to walk on ajones6's toes. She doesnt have the schedule yet. The schedule is taped to her hoops in my garage.

06-13-2005, 12:39 PM
Perhaps Wednesday.....depends on how I'm feeling after work (I've been having big headaches all weekend) & if I'm done packing! Where are you guys going Wednesday night? Where are you staying? What time are you setting up camp Thursday? Email me with any particulars you may know already, please  .
I love the word zippy....as in \"I'm gonna hear some zippy-ass music Thursday!!!!\" When I went to Texas last fall, I came across a little hamburger place in Ft. Worth called \"Zippy's\". I had to have a picture! I'm going to enlarge it & frame it for our computer/craft room :D . I was pretty cranked when I saw it (I'm easily amused), but the damn place didn't have t-shirts. That bites!!!
Aaaarrrrgggghhhh!!! I can't stand 2 more days of this! I need WAKA-meds now!

Went camping last weekend and thought of a couple more things I'm bringing.
Headlamp. Those things are friggin sweet. My friends had one last weedend and I went and bought one this morning. So much easier at night when you can use both hands...especially useful when you're trying to load things  :)
Clear fingernail polish in case them chiggers do get me.
SaraJuana
06-13-2005, 12:56 PM
I got one this weekend too! I can change mine to a red, which is sweet! Explain the clear nailpolish though? How does that work?
ocomik
06-13-2005, 01:12 PM
Chiggars bore in the skin and the nail polish is supposed to seal their entrance (air hole) so they cannot breath.
My mother lathered it all over us as kids, which might explain the tumors. It may just be an old wives tale.
The Name is Slick
06-13-2005, 01:14 PM
The clear finger nail polish cuts off the air too the bite, relieving you of the itch. Chiggers like me for some reason, so I've tried different anti-itch creams and what not after I get bit, but nail polish seems to work the best by far. Maybe that's just in my head though. :?:
Now all I need is a hoola hoop! Can't wait to learn a new trick.

My grandma used to burn ticks off our heads with a lit cigarette.
What the hell was up with that?
And she wonders why I don't want to give her a hug now that I'm an adult?
P.S. Do I need therapy or what? How do you spell therapy? W-A-K-A-R-U-S-A

That is an old wives tale but there is something to it...
Chiggers bite and secrete a substance that liquefies our skin cells for their consumption. They don't burrow or enter your body - the itchy bumps you get are a reaction to their bite.
Nail polish on the wound helps keep the itching down, and serves as a good reminder that you shouldn't scratch it!

I noticed tent locks and it got me wondering, is that a good idea? Some messageboards seem to think that it is a good advertisement for declaring that you have valuables in your tent, but it does sound like a good solution for keeping most people out that don't belong, sure someone could cut right thru the tent, but that is a bit suspitious. What do you all think, lock or no? It would cost me $6.99 at Target.

06-14-2005, 05:43 PM
It's all about having no worries.
When you're dancing the night away are you thinking to yourself, \"hmm... I wonder if anyone is stealing **** out of my tent right now.\"
If so, you may want to get a lock.
Then, however, you may be dancing the night away thinking, \"hmm... I wonder if that lock I put on my tent is advertising that I have valuable **** inside.\"
You could just keep your valuable stuff in your car.

Hello spacekitty here. That is a great list, it makes me wish we were driving there but that's a long haul for this time around. Some of that stuff is not even allowed on planes. Uggghhhh I love being prepared but this trip is going to be done as lightly as possible. Paws crossed my group and I will do our parts. Sure we will...........

Theres a great product for chigger bites called Chiggerex or ChiggerX. Its a cream that helps with the itching and has a nice cool feeling. It comes in a little round bottle with a red top. Been using it for years, its always in my camping bag.

I just clicked on this link:
http://www.filesupload.com/userfiles/cahbaron/wakachecklist.doc
then it takes you to a page that says, \"Please wait a few seconds\"
Then a link appears at the bottom of the page that says wakachecklist.doc
I clicked on that and Windows asked me if I wanted to open it with Word. I clicked on open and it opened it. It was minimized at the bottom of my screen.
Hope that helps! If not, pm me with your e-mail addy and I'll e-mail you the file.

HAVE ANY LEFT? I LIKE THAT BRAND!
the active ingredient in these things by & large is activated charcoal
it absorbs undigested alcohol and assorted toxins from the gut
you can buy charcoal very cheaply as its own pill
other things that are often ingredients in these things:
potassium & the amino acid taurine
these things do help (I believe)
however I have noticed I really never get hangovers when all I have to do is get up and go see more music & catch my next buzz
I only have hangovers when I have to get up and go to work or school or something!
mind over matter I guess
