I scoured the options for transportation from KC airport to Waka and the best way to go is hire a towncar service for $70.00. They pick you up at baggage claim, make one stop to pick up food/beer then drop off at Waka campground. I looked into shuttle service (vans), metro bus, taxi, etc... and they are all more of a hassle b/c they don't take you to the Waka site, just to the town of Lawrence.

So this driver guy is super cool and we have room for one more in our towncar if you come in on Thursday by 4pm and wanna split this w/3 others let me know! We are camping in the general area, so no reserved site and we'd like to get there ASAP to find a spot.
