Wow. What an incredible festival. Even with the few bad things that happened, I still had the time of my life. It was awesome that it wasn't run by some giant, faceless corporation. It felt like it was run by modest, hard-working folks. and they did a damn good job.
Anyway. I was wondering if anyone has good stories from the festival - or from traveling to and from. I have some, but they're not that interesting -
Thursday night, about 4AM I woke up with a tent imlpoding on me, soaking wet. I think this happened to a lot of the people there though.
On our way home the radiator started leaking and the car overheated. We had to stop 7 times to refill it with water/antifreeze. The engine seized on the state line (KS-OK) and took a lot of work to get going. Overall we went through 12 gallons of water and 3 gallons of antifreeze, and what would normally be 3.5 hour trip was a 9 hour trip. It was really fun though.
Surely you have more interesting things that happened, post em!

Wow... where can I start? First night... we left our windows open in our tent while we partied at the venue. The result was us, foot deep in water, holding up our tent while the poles holding down our tent came out of the ground and we were drenched, acting as poles ourselves to keep our tent alive and taking swigs of Jack Daniels until the storm let up. Then there was the guy who wanted us to look at his crystal rock at the late-night Coffehouse jam Saturday night because it was the coolest thing in the world to him. There was a girl who blew on my forehead to cool me off during a set. I got to be on stage during Galactic. There was a security guard, rocking out & wailing Tom Waits' \"Get Behind A Mule\" into his walkie-talkie late-night in the Revival Tent. There was my friend who liquid-raved throughout the entire weekend.. including raving with glow sticks, the trippy-light hackysacks, and various packaged foods. Overall, the weekend was quite the experience.

well let's see... we ended up having 2 buses backstage to party on and sleep on so that was cool. All the free beer we could drink.. that was damn cool! We ended up getting a golf cart to ride around that sure made things easier.... and the highlight of Sat. was the 2 beautiful, large-chested (D & E cups) southern gals that I got to hang out with for a little while... 8)
my best part was getting to eat red beans & rice w/ Galactic backstage...
just drinking fat tire and shooting the ****
oh and also getting to hang w/ the Derek Trucks band on Saturday afternoon...& hooking the band up w/ the tasties!!!
having a golf cart at my disposal for most of the time was a HUGE plus...
(never had to hike the big hill once!! :D )

Now that is a good story! Was this before or after Leftover Salmon played that song with Fareed Haque and Eric Levy of Garaj Mahal? That was wildness, and probably the best moment of the weekend for me with the crowd cheering like CRAZY.

Coool. Glad you felt it too. I know others did as well. This was a truly magical moment. This is the reason I go to concerts, seeking moments like this. I would say that 100% of the crowd was cheering, smiling, hands in the air, fists pumping, or just generally going crazy. I had that peak feeling maybe 2-3 times during Wakarusa, and the very best was Salmon on \"Dance ON Your Head\" / \"Get Behind The Mule\".
That ruled!!

Yeah, one of my favorite things to do at shows is turn slowly in a circle and take in everyone's happiness and excitement.
