I only caught Saturday evening at Wakarusa, but it sure seemed like a nice fest. Good people there. Well organized from what I could tell.

GBV was my whole reason for being there and I did notice somebody with a handheld mic (and minidisc recorder?) who apparently recorded the whole set. He was also taking digital pics. Any chance that recording would surface somewhere? I've got a decent amount of GBV to trade. I've also got plenty of MMW, Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore, Critters Buggin, Galactic, Robert Walter, and Zony Mash if that's more your style. I'd also be glad to seed the master to sharingthegroove or etree if the taper is interested in spreading the love.

Did anybody take down a setlist for the GBV show? I wasn't really in a note-taking kind of mood so didn't bother to write anything down.

Thanks to anyone who can help out with any of these requests.

I may be mistaken but I believe I was the only *full rig* taper for the GBV set.

FOB/DFC

I haven't transfered it yet. Stay tuned....

Ethan, that is very good news. I just realized that I recognize your name from the Galactic listserv. I haven't been a subscriber for awhile and was mostly a lurker there, though.

My girlfriend and I came to Wakarusa exclusively to see GBV. We actually saw them play at Gabe's in Iowa City and the High Dive in Champaign the two previous nights. We had an absolutely amazing time in each of those cities/states. It sure would put the icing on the cake to get a tape of the Waka set. tee hee

I thank my lucky stars every single day of my life for the good works that you tapers do for \"the fans\". And thanks to you, too!

Man am I so sorry to have to tell you that the GBV tape was recorded on my tape deck that broke. I was sure I recorded on a different deck but it turns out that I lost this one too.

I can't believe this happened especially on this show as I was the only taper to get my rig set up over there.

Because my deck looked like it was recording and I forgot my head phones at home I didn't find out till now.

I'm so sorry to get your hopes up.

FWIW, what I did tape on my second deck sounds sweet.

I'm really sorry to hear that your tape broke. Thanks for the effort anyway and I'm sure that we'll all love and share what you captured on your second deck for years to come.

Take it slow bro -

As I said, that woulda been the icing on the cake. At least I still got the cake!

I'm awful sorry to hear you had all those technical difficulties. Missing both Galactic sets really had to hurt. :(

I did notice somebody taping GBV with a handheld mic at the fence's edge in the slummy non-VIP area (where I was). I wonder what the chances are that that tape would show up...

peace,

I wish I'd somehow been able to tape...
would really love to hear any of it, GBV was one huge reason I was at the fest too... I did get a few pics if anyone's interested
