If you had the chance to meet Dan and his dog Klaus(they were camping in VIP) this weekend, count yourself among the fortunate. This man is an amazing, amazing human being!!

On Saturday, I did the ONE thing you don't want to do when you only have one set of keys. Yep, I locked the keys in the car! My boyfriend and I were freaking out because we had $60 left on the checkcard to get home and about $50 left in cash and a locksmith cost at least $80. Dan tried and tried with a coat hanger to get the door unlocked to no avail. He then called a local locksmith to get them to come out. We figured that we were going to just have to figure out how to afford the locksmith and the ride home when Dan did the most amazing thing. He opened his wallet and gave us the money to get it taken care of. We tried to tell him no, but he wouldn't hear it. We also tried to get his contact info so we could pay him back, but he wouldn't give it to us. He said that he wanted to make sure that we were okay and that was all he needed!!!!

Sitting here reflecting on it, I still can't believe it. The one thing that I do know is that we needed to make a huge deposit in the Karma Bank very soon!

amazing men don't bring their dogs to festivals. I'd say Lawrence has about a dozen or more new strays from people who brought their dogs and then lost them.

word. People get f*cked up and lose their pups. I saw at least two dogs wandering aimlessly with collars and leashes on. They obviously had owners, but they weren't in the condition to take care of another life.

yea, that's cool (and i remember you pacing around the campground not looking happy, and then trying to open the car)

and that other dude is right, bringing a dog to that environment is very very uncool.

saw dan and his dog klaus (also saw klaus running unattended right through the gates and into the concert fields sat night) klaus was very friendly, but still a BIG DOG, I agree it is pretty uncool to bring him. I would have loved to have my australian cattle dog w/me ( she is a champion frisbee dog and is really fun to watch!) but no dogs means no dogs.
Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
It is nice though that dan helped you guys out. we saw the loksmith wandering around trying to get out of vip and freeking out until we showed him the way.

Yea - very cool thing that he did to help you out.

I really missed my dog but would never want to have to worry about him at a fest.

i counted at least 4 dogs wandering aimlessly,

and one tethered up at the lost and found booth,

and my friend saw one running on the highway on the way out with its lease still on.

Combine that with all the glass, things they shouldn't eat on the ground, the danger to other people/kids, and the heat,

your practicing animal abuse by bringing dogs to concerts.

and i saw several puppies...one so small it would fit it your hand. I didn't understand why they didn't enforce the no dog rule. And watching those poor pups walking the asphalt in the blazing sun...the heat on their paws must have been horrible! One chick was calling for her dog, Cassie, for a long time and then swearing at several people because we weren't too happy she brought her dog. I agree...leave them at home...preferably with a pet sitter!
