Hi and welcome to the Waka forums! So you'll be leaving the land of Oz and heading to find the Wonderful Waka Wizard of Oz.

You'll find most all of the information you need on these forums so read up when you have the time. To get from the Kansas City airport (MCI) to the fest you can:

1) Watch out on this forum and try and hook up with someone for a ride.
2) Rent a car
3) Take the KCI shuttle  http://www.kciroadrunner.com/

If you take the KCI Shuttle, you can have it drop you off at one of the Waka hotels (I think there will be three). From there, there will be free shuttles that will take you into the fest ground every hour or so.

Where do you fly into the USA at? Look for Midwest airlines flights into MCI. They have the best rates I have seen and a lot of nonstop flights. I have only searched roundtrip flights, so I'm not sure about oneways. I know airlines like to stick it to you on oneways.

http://maps.yahoo.com/dd_result?newaddr=MCI&taddr=798+N+1415+RD&csz=Kansas+City%2C+MO&country=us&tcsz=LAWRENCE%2C+KS&tcountry=us&name=Kansas+City+International+Airport

Thats from MCI to the park. If your coming solo, I would do #1 from above and catch a ride. Maybe look for someone now and book your flight when you know they will be at the airport.

If you have more questions, ask them. We can give you all the info you need.

Bob

P.S. Can you bring me a couple Digger hats? :D http://www.surplusandadventure.com/ishop/800/shopscr3420.html
I can't find them in the US in any other color then camo. Shipping from the UK is nuts, but thats the best site I have found to get them.

I want some Digger hats real bad. Fest season starts March 10th in hot ass south FL @ Langerado. I want a hat that won't let me get burnt. The Digger hats are perfect.

Let us know when you hit Chi-town (post a message on the Mr Blotto message board www.mrblotto.com then click the message board tab). If you have the time, I will try and get a few shows organized for you to see.

jb, that's not a bad question, to me it means this hat:

No: 1
http://www.diggerhistory.info/images/uniforms2/slouch-10lh.jpg

or it could be this (note the side clips):

No: 2
http://www.militarykit.com/images/products_full/headwear_australian_digger_hat.jpg

or these:
No. 3
http://www.forcesreunited.org.uk/shop/images/shop/headwear/digger_hat.jpg

To me number 1 is a real diggers hat, the rest are just floppy hats. (It's the Brit's that created the confusion here, just like when they sold the London Bridge  )

[quote:9d60a4e1b0=\"misslh\"]r u living in the u.s? how long have you been there?[/quote:9d60a4e1b0]
Yes, 14-15 years. (7 in NYC the rest Chi-town)

Number 2 and 3 are what I'm looking for. Yes, the 1st one is the real version. I'm looking for the floppy kind. Also know as Ozzie Digger Hat, or Digger Bush Hat.
