Anyway let me know if your headed from new england, I might be traveling by myself as of right now so let me know if you need a ride.

Thanks

Umphreeker, i'm 20 min. outside of Albany, NY, which looks like it's on your way. lemme know when youve figured out your situation as to route, cost, ect.

allterrainhiker

umphreeker,

i'm trying to geta few heads together in a rental car. were you going to go to bonnaroo too? two of the heads in our caravan aren't going to roo after wakarusa. if you've got an extra car you're more than welcome to caravan with us.

if you are going to bonnaroo would you want to consider hopping into the rental car? i'd need some cash to cover the cost of the rental for the time you're in it.

hiker,

Hey, I wasn't planning on goin to roo because of the cost. Maybe if I tried to sneak in to roo, but ive never been so i dont know how easy it is. But id be interested in maybe going with the heads only going to waka.
Where are you coming from?

sean,

Albany would be kinda on the way, but i cant really make plans until i get a car this weekend. Im going to try and make the waka journey the most cost efficient i can. Car pooling would definitly help.

peace

allterrainhiker
03-10-2006, 11:57 AM
not sure how much luck you'd have sneaking in, but I'm not saying that it can't be done. good luck to you. roo is effing huge anyways so I say stick it to the man if you can.

i'm from North Jersey, about 45 minutes from the GWB and 20 minutes from the NY thruway.

I think i'm meeting up with montgomeryburns in PA before we go, and Sean S might come along with us too. we're renting a car and it looks like it's gonna be about 600 bucks to split up amongst whomever is in the car. the only thing is that montgomeryburns and his girl friend are only going as far as waka. after that either i'm stuck with the bill for the rental car or i need to find someone to pick up the remainder of the tab. all part of the journey though.

umphreeker
03-10-2006, 05:14 PM
How are montgomery etc. getting back home if you take the rental car to roo? Would yoiu be getting another car in kansas? 600 dollars is pretty cheap, somthing i will def think about.

Hopefully i can buy a reliable car this weekend. Im looking for a station wagon or a van with low miles on it. If I plan on taking that to waka, itll change my plans a little bit, but i will still be looking for passengers.

Has anyone volunteered at waka or roo? Is it worth it, do you miss alot of music? When do you get paid?

Man I cant wait for my tax return so i can buy a ticket.[/quote]

Hey i was talking to you guys in another thread about rides and stuff... Keep me posted man i could use a ride at least from Maine to Wakarusa and i can pitch in on everything...

allterrainhiker
03-13-2006, 11:55 AM
Awesome! It sounds like we could have people come down from Maine, meet in upstate NY, and then meet in Philly and continue down to Kansas.

Umphreeker, are you bringing people to waka? You're still undecided about Roo? You might be able to help me and montgomeryburns out. If you got that minivan we'd pitch in on gas and oil changes, beer and titty bars, and beer.

umphreeker
03-13-2006, 02:11 PM
Id love to help, I have a 7 seater. Me and my friend are seriously considering roo aswell as wakarusa. This other guy replied to me too from maine wanting a ride. let me now how i can help, I have 3 or 4 spots left.

allterrainhiker
03-13-2006, 02:36 PM
YEA!!! I sent you a PM with all the details me and monty have been working out up until now.

would you be able to leave early? i think monty is volunteering and I hear there will be lots to do in Lawrencville up till the show. we'll get a good camping spot if we leave around the 5th.

umphreeker
03-13-2006, 05:07 PM
I will keep you posted, I need to hear back from a friend to see if he wants to go. But I think there will be room.

Where is everybody located?

allterrainhiker

I'm from north Jersey. About 20 minutes from where 287 N becomes the NY Thruway.

montgomeryburns is from Philly.

well_known_stranger
03-14-2006, 09:43 AM
Is there anymore room in this caravan for like at least 1 more person? This looks like such a good fest. Monty, what part of Philly you from? I'm from Newark, DE like an hour outside of philly. I plan on goin to the Ratdog show too, so maybe we could meet up or something and figure out some more ****. I'll help the drivin, the gas, the beer, oil, whatever else might need paying for. I'm not sure if I'm gonna have the money to get to roo, but hopefully I will. If I can't get to roo I might be able to get a ride home from waka from some people that live around this way. I kinda had a falling out wit them so they won't give me a ride there and back.

If anyone else can help a fellow head from DE let me know. e-mail me at m_town_sk8r@hotmail.com

Peace.

Also know that we are going down from Binghamton and taking the fast route... can't be stopping off in Knoxville (although we used to live there) or the ozarks, just don't have the time. We gotta be there the day before for volunteer duty, but would love to caravan, and might have a seat open. I have talked to a couple of peeps about it, but don't know from anyone for sure.
Be good!

hey everybody,

i do have a van going to wakarusa>bonnaroo and id love to take people if theres room.

HOWEVER i hope you can understand, my friends will have first dibs on seats over strangers.

I know I will have some seats open, but Im not going to promise any number right now.

I wont have too many friends going, but i will find out soon so i can help you guys plan. I will reply again shortly, but thinking of a plan B would be a good idea.

I drive a Hyundai Elantra GT. Not exactly a road tripping vehicle but I did bring it to Roo last year. I got into a fender bender a few weeks ago, other guys fault, and I'm waiting for his insurance to mail me the damn check so I can get my car fixed and both headlights working.

Hypothetically, I'd like to fix my car, bring it to a dealer and get a new car. I'd like a truck or a dodge magnum. Anyways, just to add a little hope to the mix, once I get a new car I'll let everyone know how much room I have. montgomeryburns and his girl have a seat in there once it all happens. After that me and umphreeker can meet up and pick some heads up on the way down to KS.

I'll let you know what's going on as it unfolds.

montgomeryburns
03-15-2006, 08:17 AM

No, the car wasn't totalled. The other guys car was a lot worse. It's just that i live in ****in Jersey  . North Jersey at that  . These hills get all snow covered and slippery in the winter.

Like I said, I'll keep you posted.

I'm from around Monty's way so I was hopin to hop in that caravan with him, but if **** fails there, I'd like to try to hop in this caravan here. The only problem is that I'm not sure about Roo, I might not have the loot. Money is a little frail for me right now. hopefully **** turns around though.

If my money issue continues, is anyone planning on coming back near Philly or north DE after Waka?

Monty keep me posted on what you're gonna do, your caravan is definately more convenient.

I need to clarify things; I'm not from philly, I spend a lot of time there. My girlfriend lives in plymouth meeting, about 25 mintues from the delphia, my house is in west chester, and it takes me anywhere from 35-45 minute ride into center city... if its not rush hour. So hotels in philly? I have no idea, I've stayed at the marriot there once but that was with my parents back in the day. You guys dont have any friends who go to temple? If my girl was going to be in town then I'd invite yall to her house for the weekend, do some camping and have a nice fire out next to the farm. But thats not really an option as it looks now. But **** you guys.... what about Jam on the River????!?!?! Now thats what I'm really excited for? Any of you guys get to one in the past few years? Hopefuly we can do the camping thing that weekend, that would be cool. I know I'll be there, especially if Disco biscuits decide to make an appearance. Although I think last years lineup was one of the best I've been to; to duo, dj logic, rrearth, tdb, brothers past, vince welnick and a bunch more. I dont know, just full of random thoughts at 930am. TGI FRIDAY!

allterrainhiker
03-17-2006, 08:50 AM
When is Jam on the River?

If any of you guys are 21, there's a beer festival at the Atlantic City Convention center tomorrow and Sunday. http://www.celebrationofthesuds.com. Over 120 different kinds of beer, food, live music, Juggling Suns play on Sunday, a pair of twin playboy playmates, drunk chicks, probably a few local cracked out derelicts, all for the low low price of $25 at the door. Designated driver tickets are five bucks.

Other than that I'm still waiting to hear if some of my friends are down for going to see Bobby next weekend. My friends band is playing at the Grand Framage soon, and they have band practice on Saturday night. I told them this would be good inspiration and almost as good as band practice.

well_known_stranger
03-17-2006, 11:19 AM
Jam on the River does sound like it's gonna be a good time. Looked like a good set of bands I must say.

I don't think I'm gonna be able to make it to the Bobby show cuz work is ****in me out of some loot right now. like $900, and I might have to quit suddenly. Today might be the day.

Unless I get a better job than had makin like $15 an hour. cuz I'm pretty low and I kinda hav somewhat a hard time saving money. especially wit the nice weather rollin' around. hallucinatives are comin round, you know.

Let me know if you hear of any good shows. There's a matisyahu show in D.C. in 2 weeks, but you probably arent tryin to travel that far. he was just in Philly like 2 weeks ago or somethin, so he won't be around for a little bit after DC.

the boat leaves on the 5th sometime I think. Things are still unsure. But anyhow, Lotus is coming to the Trocadero in Philly, on the 28th of April. Thats should be a great time I'll definatley be there, they're \"moving up\" from the TLA. Lee Perry is playing the World Cafe on 5/23 and Then The New Deal and the blue method are booked so far for saturday Jam on the River, with Dark Star orchestra to play the elctric factory that night too. JOTR usually ends around 10, I bet a lot of folk will be going over their or to one of the many after partays. The breakfast will probably play the kyber or someplace like that who knows, Umelt, Quagmire Swimteam and some other band had the kyber last year I think.

I was there for that show... it was mad fun 'cept for the rain. It was mostly calm weather during that set, but I was disappointed for one reason = Bobby played lots of Jerry tunes the night before, and I was stuck in traffic on the way in, so we missed it. Then the Jerry tribute set couldn't repeat those songs, so we were stuck with traditional songs, etc. It just didn't live up to the hype.

Damn that sucks you missed Bob. That was a great set 2. The rain kinda worked out cuz I was thinkin it was hott as ****, then it started to rain. And the thunder and lighting seemed to be on beat. It only sucked after the set cuz it was cold, wet, and dark.

There's a small festival in May called the Dancing WU LI festival in Morrisville, PA. it's like May 19 & 20 I think. Not sure. Keller, Disco Biscuits(?), Perpetual Groove(?), some other bands I can't remember and some I'm not familiar with are playin. Thinkin bout checkin it out on the day Keller's playin. I missed him when he was in Baltimore a few months ago.
