Sup everyone, I'm David Sockrider, I guess I'm the artist who won this year's poster design contest. Here's the final poster for 2006 for all to see.

When I was thinking of concepts for this years poster I kept thinking of the great vibe and great time I had last year.
When I think of Wakarusa, I thought of the music, the water, the land, the night and the day, so I decided to combine those elements into an image. I decided to create a somewhat playful and magical image of the 'spirit of good vibes' levitating above the water. I wanted her to appear happy and content and 'good vibes' radiating from her head, reigning over the night and day. I've read that Wakarusa means, \"River of big weeds\" or \"waist deep\" so I included the cattails to represent the meaning of the word Wakarusa. The festival is all about fun and music in the day and night, so I included day on one side with the sun and night on the right with a full moon. June 11 is a full moon so I made the moon full. Last year, I was camped under the only tree in the VIP area. That tree is represented on the horizon in the poster.
Here's my poster from last year:

I can barely wait for the festival. Have a great Wakarusa!!!
