This is a little off topic but thought I would mention it since so many peeps are from Arkansas.

I have been trying and failing miserably to start a new project in Fayetteville. Can't seem to find a reliable bass player. I know a really great guitar player that I have been jamming with but he's a little flaky too. I do know two awesome drummers that are dying to do some stuff too. I've even got an old 1966 Ludwig 4 piece in my attic that sounds great! Anyways, I play sax, and have since I was very young but am very frustrated lately. Some of you guys may remember my 2.5 year stint with Grandpa's Goodtime Fandango (GGF).

Anyway, if you are from the area (Northwest Arkansas) and interested in gettin' your groove on, we should definetly talk.

My e-mail addy is cwhiley@cox-internet.com

See at at Wakarusa!

Arkansas REPRESENT! :D

Hell Yeah, I love GGF! I\"m from Hot Springs, but have some great friends in fayetteville that turned me on to yall. All I have heard is Placebo Dream, but I loved it. I can't really help out with the band dilemma, although I do play drums, but i hope yall get back to making music again. What ever happened to GGF? I never got a chance to see yall live, but heard you put on a good show.

jsg, GGF won the Arkansas Times Musicians Showcase in Little Rock this year, beating out 15 other bands. I love them too. Their bass player is unfreakin believable. The entire band's energy level is out the roof.

GGF still plays about once a month. However, I don't play with them anymore.

I want to start an experimental funk/jazz/fusion group. Probably just instrumental, but vocals later on might be cool. Perhaps I could put an ad in An Honest Tune? Who knows!

I'm gonna play a song or two by GGF tonight on kjhk. It's the KU student radio station. You can tune in on the website http://kjhk.org. I'm on the air from 6 to 9pm so tune in to hear some good tunes! -chris

I play a little bass down here in Little Rock, unfortunately, I don't have as much time to play as I would like due to a plethora of jobs, but I'll hopefully be able to get more time in the near future. I think we've met before cwhiley, I used to go see you guys all the time in Fayetteville. When I lived there I played in a band called FUBAR, we were no GGF, but we had a good time. Let me know if you are ever in the area, or maybe we could talk at Wakarusa?

Hey,

My name is Jody and I play guitar and sing....live in Fayetteville part time while I go to school, and live permanently about an hour south.

I, too, am in need of a bass player. My old funk band is talking about getting back together...but our bass player moved to Waco.

Currently our line up is Kevin White on keyboards and vox (he is a really great singer/front man and keyboard player...played with the Miller recording artists tour band Razorback), Dr. Henry Rinne on sax (professor at UAFS and toured with the Temptations back in the day...he is really awesome), Ken Lake on trumpet (from the NW ARkansas symphony), Bruce Fowler (drum teacher at Sigler Music in Fort Smith), and then myself who plays funky electric guitar and sings (I also have a little duo with Gary Hutchison of Oreo Blue and payed with him in a few other bands).

This band plays a lot of Tower of Power and jazzy funky stuff...

Good bass players are hard to find...
