so i pitched my tent yesterday and i found a small hole in the rainfly(i think thats what it is called??). anyway, i looked online and found a few different suggestions on ways to fix it.

1) using ripstop nylon repair tape and seam-sealing glue
or
2)stitching nylon patches on and then using seam-sealing glue

so i have a few questions:

anyone have experience w/ either??
what would you suggest??
do you think electrical or duct tape would work??

as far all waterproofing goes...i dont know if my tent is waterproofed, but i dont really want to find out at waka. it is a little bit over a year old, so do you think i will even need to waterproof it?? any suggestions on a cheap but effective waterproofer??

thanks for the help guys

i'd use the nylon repair tape + sealing glue and waterproof with scotchguard, that should work just fine

My guess would be the tape would work fine but may need to re-applied with each outing. If you don't take it out a lot, that would probably work fine. If you camp a lot or don't want to have to keep re-repairing your tent, go with the sewing method.
