leave it to the republican's to want us to keep buying SUV's and burning oil....
also leave it to the republican's to bad mouth any events that will raise awareness...
i do like how Fox news was calling Live Earth a waste....
if trying to save the earth is trendy....well sign me up and give me one of those armstrong wristbands...cause i want to be positive trendy.
Fox news is a joke.
such shady practices of misinformation should be illegal. the folks that watch that crap are just puppets for the media.
telling people what you want them to hear, sharing a fraction of truth and twisting the story around to suit their agenda. it's the Fox news way!!! :x

Quoted from the Prison Planet website:
\"The film showcases scientists, economists, politicians, writers, and others who are sceptical (sic) of the scientific consensus on anthropogenic global warming.\"
I wonder why the economists and politicians are skeptical about the human impact on global warning? Hmmmmmmm.....could it be for the sake of big oil money?????

yeah i want to watch this documentary sometime when i get a chance but i always keep in mind that political \"documentaries\" are really designed to promote a certain point of view. they always try to give the impression that they are really informing you, but they're only informing you in such a way that it forms your opinion for you.
and fox news is pretty crappy, but pretty much all mainstream media is owned by a few global corporations, rupert murdoch's is only one of them. they've all got political ties and are all about profit. i don't see why people with the internet still watch TV.

Not to bash you on this, but the Internet is just a chock full of crap, lies, and misinformation as the television is. In truth everyone who opens their mouth about anything has an agenda. Everyone is influenced by something, and tries to make you think the way they do.
Personally, I distrust everything that I hear, and try and assimilate all the information I can, and build my own opinion based on the various lies I have been told.
That all being said, it is hot as hell outside, so right now I believe the global warming. In January however, I'm probably going to be outside burning plastic, and running my truck just sitting there to try to hurry up the warming.

In Poly's defense: Yes, the Innernts is full o'crap, but the key is that it's all there, equally accessible - truth, lies, stupidity & brilliance. With TV as your source of news, you're fed one view, can do no research (via that medium, at least), and usually can't even catch a \"different\" viewpoint b/c the Boob Tube Billionaires cram all \"news\" into the same time slot.
With the web, at least you're active in obtaining & digesting your information. Someone says that global warming is caused by that huge fart I ripped yesterday, and by nothing else? I can google that \"fact\" (or look it up in myriad other ways), and see whether it has any clout. ;-)
(BTW, sorry about that fart yesterday. I'll buy some carbon credits this weekend to off-set it. )

yeah the internet does have a lot of crap, but there is still a lot more variety than TV. having that much variety kind of forces you to develop at least a bit more critical thinking. instead of the 1 or 2 viewpoints (3 if they get REALLY crazy with it!) that the producers have deemed appropriate to fit into their little info bites, you have a whole bunch of viewpoints from a variety of sources, many of them contradicting each other, and you yourself have the opportunity to get your own view out there.
Personally, I distrust everything that I hear, and try and assimilate all the information I can, and build my own opinion based on the various lies I have been told.
Yeah thats what I try to do as well. I usually don't form very strong beliefs though, especially about people and events that I've never met or seen myself.

Here is the rebuttal to this film titled: Scam of the \"Great Global Warming Swindle\"
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-1656640542976216573&q=scam+of+great+global+warming+swindle&pr=goog-sl
I have not watched either of these so I can comment on them, but it should be interesting to see them both.
Description: \"An excellent debunking of the scam \"documentary\": \"The Great Global Warming Swindle\". This analysis shows how the film's editor and the speakers in the film use every trick in the book to attempt to deceive the viewers of \"Swindle\" film. For example, the presentation shows how the film used the fact that the Earth's climate has always been changing (correct) to \"prove\" that humans could not now be causing global warming (incorrect).\"

thanks for the link adam...i plan to check 'em out sometime probably. thats what i find funny about these \"documentaries\"...for every one there's another debunking it. i think anyone buys fully into any of those things needs to get their BS detector repaired, or maybe buy a new one.

In college, I made a documentary exposing how ALL documentaries are bunk & completely false.
It blew up and melted the projector at it's first and only screening.

actually there is a documentary that kind of does that in an artistic way. its a fake documentary about a real guy who did fake paintings..and a guy who wrote a fake biography about him. its called F For Fake and its by Orson Welles. really awesome movie, i highly recommend it, although you probably won't find it in the local blockbuster.

Just heard of a little thing called
\"Gridpoint\"
seems it is a device that helps monitor the usage of energy from the house...also it can be a storage device that is able to store solar and wind energy.
it is about 10 grand.
i was watching this program on the Weather Channel that was telling all about \"green\" cooperations. i wish i could remember the name of it...it was very informative.
