April 25-26 Fayetteville, AR
Wow, It was just leaked to me that this festival will occur again. I was told in December it wouldn't happen, but it is! This year the festival will team up with George's Majestic and the Dixon Street Music Fest. I have some names of the bands that are confirmed, but I will have to tease you for now since it hasn't went official yet. Friday night is going to be really mellow with some classic rock bands. There will be after parties for both nights (smoking after hour sets) Saturday night is going to be one hell of a night! If you know who some of my favorite jambands and DJ's are than you might have a good guess at who will be playing.

ok...someone's going to have to tell me what kind of bands played this before. I just got approved work from home.....so basically that means I can probably just up and leave whenever right?!?!??!

ok....i just tried to look this up. If Speakeasy is there, I'd be interested in checking this out.

Camping may not happen seeing how this is a city fest. I was told the city may open up the fairgrounds for camping?

The rumored bands on Saturday night blows last year's line-up away. I think there is only one confirmed artist mentioned above confirmed. I was told they expect about 5,000 people for the weekend and tickets are in the range of 35 to 50 for both nights.

So is this going to be in fayetteville or in eureka springs?

Very cool! It sounds like they have really upped this fest from last year. When can we expect an announcement?
kgbnfx
01-30-2008, 03:35 PM
Oh yeah! Let me clarify: I am in no way or form involved in this festival other than I'm street teaming here in Chainsaw City for a free ticket. I am stoked however for a pre-union two in Fayettenam? I'm not sure how hard the city is going to push this? I'll have some more information about street teaming for the fest next week if your interested.
Send me a PM if you may be interested and from these cities.

Hard to tell at this point? If your at the Pre-Union you?ll know a few of the names by the end of the night..
This is mid level city fest. It isn?t going to try to compete with larger festivals like Waka, Scamp, or 10K. Even though there will be several Waka worthy type bands. Some that played Waka in prior years.
Pauly's Cheese
01-30-2008, 03:42 PM
So they're planning on having it at the fairgrounds? No camping? If that's the case, I'd definitely be down with setting up tent city in my backyard. The fairgrounds are about 5 minutes away 8)
I wonder what the no camping thing would do to the sets that last til sunrise.
kgbnfx
01-30-2008, 03:50 PM
Well Earthtones decided not to try and compete with the cities Dixon Street Music Fest and George's and have instead joined them. I'm sure something will work out, but it is just a city music fest.
kgbnfx
01-30-2008, 05:18 PM
This will be an indoor/outdoor event. Georges will have shows indoor while there will be a large stage in Georges Parking lot. There will also be a DJ tent.

I know....I checked on there yesterday and still didn't see anything.
However, I did notice a little blurb about it on a flyer last weekend. No bands listed on it, though. It was just a list of dates for upcoming shows and that was at the bottom of the list.
Hopefully we'll get a chance to try the Chompdown de Cheese, Version 2.2 expansion pack!

Chomp de Cheese 2??? I talked to Sterling and they plan on hitting the after party at your house. I think the wife and I are going to stay whim and his wife at the lake then get up and come back to your house for the Chomp if your going to throw one. Rabbit your going, no questions asked, so don't even go there. Can't have a chomp w/out the Brer! I know Rob is down, this time bring your laptop. I just got my 500 gb external today and I backed everything up, so hooking you up with tunes will be even easier. I still have your DVD's. Where did we stop? Oh yeah Matt and Tom I expect to see you guys there too!

I'll have to see. In the spring, I get busy with all kinds of outdoor projects and there's always that window after winter to get all this stuff done before it gets hot outside and the summer fest season starts.
In other words, I ain't sure, yet.

Ok....here's the deal. So far I know that I don't have anything scheduled, Although......I do need to put this past my husband and my sister....if we could make this a
take DOS!
then it would be awesome. I could come down NOT SICK! and not spread any of the plague that Nipper sent down to ya'll during the chomp de cheese......
I would totally love to do this if Bluetech is there, and little feat...this is going to be awesome. I don't have squat for cash though right now. If Dana could carry me...then this would be the best show on earth. Plus, we could also have a preunion take dos!

Bad news on the Street team front. I guess these guys are running behind schedule and are going to try to internet base there advertising rather than deploy the pounders. Bummer sorry all!

There is still a brewery on Dickson....right next to where the festival is going to be. I haven't been there since I've moved back.......it changed owners.....but I'll try and get in there soon and offer either a recommendation or a condemnation. There's also a place called \"Brewski's\" real close. They've got something like 140 beers on tap
If that doesn't fit your fancy, there's a place called \"Tables and Ale\" a couple blocks away. They have $1 Bud Light drafts and $2 Mothership pints every day. Needless to say, I'm quite the regular
Zac, do you have my number? If not, shoot me a PM. I'm gonna try and get off work a little early on Friday.

hey all, gotta throw my 2 cents in... the Hoghaus (brewpub) has some good brews, the food's OK but not particularly noteworthy and you just can't beat Brewski's for beer selection. Try a Chimay blue or Maredsou Belgian Abbey Ale.
Jose's is up the street a about 4 blocks and has real good tex-mex, but their rocks (not frozen) margaritas are the standard that noone else has met yet. A couple gold rocks margs with dinner and you'll be primed for the evening. They also have about 25 different tequilas if you wanna get exotic, erotic, or just poor in a hurry. And they usually have some pretty cool tees for sale. Disclaimer - the service isn't always what it used to be but it's still worth the trip.
If you really want to go hardcore and drop a bill or two, Bordino's is excellent Italian / steaks / seafood but you'll need to make a reservation now if they're not already booked up.
Thanks for the heads up on the VIP tix - I'm doing it VIP Saturday night, just GA Friday night late. I hope to meet some of you over the weekend - Paul, I'll find you on the psychic hotline. 8)

36 Club has really good food as well. The woman and I ate there last weekend and had a medium priced meal (I had the oven roasted pork tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus) and a few Stellas for around $65. Well worth it. We were stuffed.
