So how was your weekend?

I had a very relaxing weekend up until saturday around 5. Out of all the great music playing in Austin that night we decided to hang out with emily's dad. This man is a riot let me tell you. We went to a bar called Hanovers to see some friends of his play and they ended up being an AC/DC cover band called big/balls. i had an inordinate amount of beer to much of the good stuff and after the shots it was over. needless to say sunday was spent watching star wars. so how was your weekend?

Friday was great! I didn't have to work, so I went to dinner with my man before he had to work. It was pretty nice, so I decided to go shopping at the local head shop and got two beautiful new skirts. Then I got together with some friends and we went to see the Copper Still Foundry at Mr. Robert's. Pretty good band and great company!
On Saturday, it was GORGEOUS, but I had to work at 6pm. Still I got to enjoy the sun and the warmth and we grilled out for the first time this year!
All in all a good weekend!

Saw New Monsoon and Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk on Friday night. I was pleasantly blown away by New Monsoon. I had seen them in May 07, and this show was a total facemelter compared to the one last year. It was my first time for Dumpstaphunk and they brought the funk nicely. Great guys with superb skills.

NM and Dumpsta joined forces for a \"superjam\" that lasted almost 30 minutes to close out the LATE night.

Other than the shows, was nice to get some nice weather finally so I started doing spring yard work and whatnot. Got my shed cleaned up, de-trashed my yard, started spring cleaning inside...

My weekend was mostly spent partying and sleeping. We had a party at my apartment in Brooklyn on friday night. it was check your pants at the door. yeah my roommate is a pretty interesting/fun gal to say the least. but it was a good time, my little virgin self went out of my comfort zone to participate. It was a good time and a good small crowd of 9 ppl.
Then on Saturday night I went to my friend Kiley's birthday party at a loft in DUMBO (Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass) but it was full of stuck up hipsters, so I walked over the Manhattan Bridge (which was a pretty cool experience) and went to my roommate's former living quarters in the Lower East side around Chinatown, fondly refered to as The Brothel. There was a really awesome international crowd and I even met someone from Lawrence, Kansas. There was free beer and roof access and beer pong. Still nothing to write home about though.
I was so lucky and only had to wait like 5 minutes for the F Train to come at 3am when its usually a long wait, and then J train was on my side too when I didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes and was home by 4am. wahooo.

My weekend was phenomenal. Friday I was best man at my friend's wedding, and it was a great time, then saturday I spent all afternoon with my grand daughter who I had not seen in a year and a half almost.

Though, I did call late into work yesterday so I could play disc golf. That was fun!

I had a terrific weekend!
Friday: took my 1yr old to grandparents for the weekend!!! went to have drinks with my husband and some friends, then headed to rehab to watch my husbands band, Tech Tonic get funky!!!! left the bar drunk sometime around 2:30 hit up Micky D's! good night~

Saturday: Had friends over for a cookout(beer and burgers) chomped down. Headed to Plan B around 9:00pm, again to see Tech Tonic(even better than Fri) drank alot and danced alot! got home around 3:00am.

Sunday: planted flowers!!!!

my \"weekend\" is actually just about to begin since tuesday and wednesday are my days off...but lets see...

friday after i came home from work i drummed, then my friend came over and we watched this awesome jamaican movie called Rockers.

saturday i got up and did some yoga, drummed, then went to my capoeira class. i actually played a couple games for the first time in 2 months because my wrist has been sore from a fall i took while hiking back in february. it felt really damn awesome and i had some surprisingly good games. we had a roda outside and it the weather was beautiful. then i went to work and went for a walk with one of my clients, then watched star wars 2.

sunday i trained some capoeira then hurried to work, where i spent most of the day walking with my client so he could find cans to buy cigarettes and listening to some interesting lectures on my ipod. after i got home i drummed and chilled with a couple friends.
