Pat Healy - \"What the hell is Brett Favre doing here\"
Brett Favre - \"I\"m in town to play the Dolphins dumbass\"
-There's Something About Mary-
This was bound to happen, he didn't even really want to quit. He's got a couple more good years in him, I say keep playing.

I don't even know what to think of this. Brett, why must you continue to play with our hearts and emotions? I would love to see #4 come back for another year, but I thought that ship had sailed.

I don't think it really matters if he plays or not. It would just be a bonus. Everyone here has moved on.
As far as the Vikings, they would be good if it was 1930. They forgot about the forward pass.

Hey I was rootin for Favre in that playoff game! It almost...*almost*...felt like he \"gave up\" in that overtime run. He looked scattered and very un-Favre-like. I wanted so much to see a Packers-Patriots Superbowl! He's pullin a Rice with this shizz...

Now Bretty-poo wants released, I hope they honor his wishes.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3483521
I worked in the newspaper industry in Wisconsin for a long time so I was able to call some of my old friends in the Green Bay area and the fans and writers there are stunned. They really thought that the Packers would bring him back. There was a lot of anger towards Ted Thompson (General Manager) and the rest of the front office.
The guys I worked with in Eau Claire and Madison seemed happy that the Packers put their foot down. The thought is that they should make it uncomfortable for Brett to return to an NFC rival. I'd say it's 50/50 with the fans. Hardcore football fans understand the Packers decision but the casual fans simply love Brett Favre and don't care how many times he retires. They still want him back.

I've heard people talk about his retiring and coming back being like Jordan in the 90s (not the wizard debacle, but the 3 more rings), and that's ridiculous. Brett Fa(V)re is not the icon he thinks he is. The problem is that he acts like a baby, and bad mouths his own freaking team, while throwing more interceptions. He's not a complete quarterback, and shows it every time he gets frustrated or in a pinch. He doesn't necessarily choke, but rather he tightens up and makes poor judgments that his body can not overcome anymore. His whole purpose for coming back is the fact he can not stand to be outside the lime-light of wondrous Wisconsin. If the butt-kissing folks of ESPN or wherever would look on the Fa(V)re as an unbiased QB they would have poo-pooed his addicted arse off the field 2-3 years ago when he first started this crybaby crap.
I am the all knowing supreme football omnipotent! RAAA!!!!!
Brett Fa(V)re is not the icon he thinks he is
Favre is the only three-time AP MVP (1995-97) in NFL history and led the Packers to two Super Bowls: a victory against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI and a loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII. His records include: most career NFL touchdown passes (442), most career NFL passing yards (61,655), most career pass completions (5,377), most career pass attempts (8,758), most career NFL interceptions thrown (288), most consecutive starts among NFL quarterbacks (253; 275 total starts including playoffs), and most career victories as a starting quarterback (160).
if ALL those records don't make an NFL icon to you, then perhaps you don't know as much as you think you do.

Favre IS an icon, and that's all there is to it. He will be in the Hall of Fame.
What I like best about the man is that he's a down-home Southern dude from Mississippi. He seems like the kinda guy that would invite you over for burgers and beer. Kinda like a good neighbor or something.
And like a good neighbor, Brett Farve is there

The point I was making is he is not above a team. He may be the previous face of the Packers, but he is not \"the\" Packers......as much as I would like his recent failures to be the entire Packers team. He is putting himself above the team, and his employer. Not that that's always a bad thing, but he is not the player he was in the superbowl days of his squad. As far as him being a good ol' boy that I would like to have a beer with.....well yes, that might be the case. However he is a Packer, that procludes all cool, laid back, and drunkenness that a man could possess.
Of course this excludes Coop. I would most definitely have booze with this cat. Maybe even Cheese boy, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself.
Roar.
   Beers anytime are on me good man.
yeah...i'm pretty torn at the recent turn of events w/ brett. i think he should have stayed out of the limelight. the Packers org. has made the right decision by sticking to their guns. i wish he could play forever, but it's time to say goodbye IMO.

Looks like Favre has sent his reinstatement letter to the NFL! Now, the Packers have to decide whether to trade him or sign him up for camp. WTF? Where else would he go or how long can he be a back up QB?

The single point that I want to make is this:
Evidently the management and/or owners think that Aaron Rogers can take the Packers to a Super Bowl. That must be their mindset, because when you get down to the bottom line, the NFL is about winning Super Bowls.
That being said, Brett took them to the NFC Championships last year. They were 13 and 3. Damn near got that Super Bowl shot......and the Pats were so overconfident, they probably would have beat them just like the Giants did.
If they think that Aaron Rogers can do that, they're DEFINITELY smoking some of Wisconsin's FINEST PCP. My prediction: Aaron Rogers will be hurt.....out for the season after game 3.

Thats EXACTLY what I thought! Why not give the tried and true workhorse one more shot if it's REALLY about winning games. Hell, even if they lose a few, all they have to do is make the playoffs and see if Fa(V)re can keep from choking this time.
LOL...I agree Aaron Rodgers aint SH*T compared to Brett

Boys and girls there is no disputing the fact that Fa(V)re is a hack, and is irritating everyone. This couldn't happen to a better recipient. I'm very happy and content that the final 2 years of this man's career will be as a scapegoat, and as a hated man in most circles that do not include Peter King or anyone in the great (HA) state of Mississippi.
Go #4!

Wow, what a difference a day makes. Brett goes to camp and leaves w/o practicing Tuesday and then Wednesday morning it's all over Sports Center that he'll likely be traded to the Bucs. Does he want to play enough to play at Tampa Bay? Does he want to practice and study film for a team that is not a play off contender? Hmmm, seems like these are the \"Days of Our Lives\" for Brett and the Packers!

Blah, Blah, Blah. Brett Fa (v) re is a whinning cry baby. He is a suck and put the Packers in a bad spot. I never take up for the rich guy, but Favre got rich crying and whinning about just about everything over the last 5 years. He made WAY more than he gave. I am really looking forward to him increasing his interception leading category until he gets destroyed by just about everyone in the league. Couldn't have happened to a more deserving person.
By the way Payton is the only real name. Peyton is not a word. It's a french version of a man's last name. He's a suck too. Put that in your wax covered cheese and smoke it! RoaR!
