View Full Version : Event passes DO NOT include camping?????

From the tickets sale portion of the web site....
\"Event passes DO NOT include camping. Camping tickets will released in January and information will be released when our initial lineup is announced.\"
So if camping is not included in the $79 ticket price how much more are we going to be looking at to be granted the privilege of actually attending the festival? It's not like in Lawrence where there were a significant number of people that either lived in Lawrence or stayed in Hotels. Essentially it sounds like there is going to be additional fees stacked on top of the event ticket to camp, so suddenly the $79 doesn't sound like such a good deal.

camping pass is 28 dollers per car/camp spot...you can have up to 6 peeps in a spot..so it pretty damn cheap.

Where is this info coming from? I can't find it anywhere on the site.

i emailed waka today about what additional fees there would be and this is what they said:
\"Rachel, Thanks for contacting us. Camping passes will be in the $29 range and goodfor up to 6 people per campsite/vehicle. Please contact us if you have additional questions. Thanks. Wakarusa\"

I hope it'll be easy to get camping spots in a group. We need a massive Chompdown/BaconAlien/CPJS compound.
Dang, so many questions! Are they going to have a VIP section? How many stages? And where? Does anyone want to buy a block of upgrades? I'll pay for one. Will there be restrictions on how many you can buy at once? Is it too early to start a headcount?

Good questions Sunflower! I was particularly wondering about the VIP situation myself. Did they have VIP at Harest fest in September? I wonder if perhaps it would be similar to that, although I haven't heard anyone ever speak of a VIP program there.
The stage question is also an awesome one. And I guess the bigger question is simply whether or not they are going to downsize drastically or not. I have heard from a person familiar with the venue that they can't really envision a way in which they could have more than 3 stages, due to sound bleeding and the like, but maybe there is a way to have more... Either way, I am just grateful that they are having the damn thing. I personally wouldn't mind if they downsized a bit, which would also give them a chance to bring about some capital that might expand future possibilities.
Have a nice day all, I hope it isn't as cold where you are as it is in Iowa City. Peace

29 bucks is a pittance for camping...are sites reserved, and is there \"upgraded\" camping?

i hope there is upgraded camping....after that nightmare we endured in general in this past summer. We may be bringing scarlets dad so he will need certain amenities

I e-mailed them about the VIP situation and they informed me (like 2 minutes later) that there will be a VIP package. Information will be available at the beginning of January. I know it is early, but who's with me? We had an awesome group last summer and I will be sure to drag the Teepee folks, Mark and Terri, down to Arkansas for another VIP installment as well.

Ron, the entire grounds are pretty flat. There aren't any long distances either between camp and music like Clinton Lake. You should be okay.

Not sure if there are tix this year with my name on them, my backyard went bare!!!! Super weak!!!
All I'm saying is that there better be one hell of a lineup. But with tickets that cheap, not to sure how that will work. This will probably be the year to make or break wakarusa, as if last year didn't.
But this will mean that waka will be able to serve dank beer, or actual fat tire instead of flat tire.

Can you say \"Super Mega Chompdown/BaconAlien/CPJS Compound\"!!!!!!!!
I am so pumped about this and can't wait!!! I'm ready to start planning now
Hey Shagadellic...It's usually Rabbit and Pauly that organize it...but there's usually room for good cooks and fun people. You may want to touch base with them. I kind of elbowed my way in and now they can never get rid of me....bring them gifts and food and they will love you forever

if you are talking about the chomp and the proposal last year...
ain't no thing....just glad it was such a positive day.
We can use you on the grill though (and if you have a grill)...lol
i want to order my tickets...I think I may do it next week..ifthey are still available.
LOL to redbob Ican't wait to meet you.
I am glad you had a good chomp at Mulberry.
The beanie baby rabbit sits atop my monitor. He makes me happy.
As for a group of us...camp chomp will be in full effect. I am going to try and buy 5 upgrades together...that is if they are not 100 each. Though I think it might be cool to be in the main campsite. ALL camping together.
