Solid work by the WET group with a particular shout out to Yoni and Ashley; The main man, Seith Weiner too. Very approachable and a nice guy. I hope both Yoni and Ashley stay with the company.

The volunteer process from application to work was smoothly and nicely handled.

Ashley's a doll and Yoni's a mensch.

If you've thought about volunteering in the past but just couldn't bring yourself to do it....give it a try. They're easy folks to work with; you meet all kinds of different people and you get to see and participate in the festival from a full on different vantage point.

Good choice, Wakarusa.....turning to WET to handle a fairly complex and most critical aspect of the festival in order to make it work.

Maybe next year WET can be expanded and further included in the planning process such that they can run a full blown INFORMATION CENTER in addition to handling the volunteers. They did their best to be an unpaid INFO CENTER as it was....Seems like everybody and their mommy was sent to WET to figure out things way out of the scope of what WET was there to do.....Coordinate Volunteers.....

For the record, How did/does the WET thing work?

How many hours do you need to work per day and how much flexibility is there on when you put them in?

My kids will want to know when I quit buying them their tickets, like I always say I will...

(....also I noticed WET is doing Rothbury.

Sweet!...)

The process is simple. The people running the process are friendly, easy to get along with, and very flexible.

Go to the Web Site at http://www.workexchangeteam.com/ ; select the festival you want to attend (if it's listed and if they've not reached their number of needed volunteers [I see that Rothbury is still available for volunteering]); fill out the data and wait for the magic email process.

You will be charged $10 to make application. If you're selected, (and you most likely will be), you'll be noticed via email in good time before the festival you're wanting to attend. You will be expected to work about 15 hours ( I think it varies just a bit depending on the venue) doing any manner of what needs doing around the festival, save for Security or other "departments" which are typically contracted to other outfits....; during the application process you'll see that you can prioritize the times best suited for your schedule to fulfill your work obligation. You will be allowed to list the bands you just gotta see and WET will bend over backwards to facilitate those needs....but no guarantees.....can't be with so many schedules to coordinate, but they do their level best to take care of you.....You WILL be charged (credit card, debit card, check, money order....whatever....) the price of admission and camping to keep it on the up and up and to strongly encourage you to show up for your assigned shifts.....BUT ALL THAT MONEY WILL BE GIVEN RIGHT BACK TO YOU (within a few days anyway....) once you've completed what you signed up to do.

The WET folks are beyond mellow; are into the festival scene as much as anyone else and do everything they can to work with you. It's a good system; a fair system; and a fun system: You meet others; "social networking" is part of the fringe benefit if you're into that; blah, blah, blah. Nothing is ever set in stone at any of these festivals, so some degree of flexibility is necessary on your part. Too, you can agree to do pre and post festival "work" if that's your thing and if slots are open. The sooner you apply, the sooner you know you're in. It's as easy as that.

Check out their web site and see what's what. They're good people.
