Technically, $4.20 is the daily vehicle pass. There is an additional $8.50 (i think..) charge if you wanna set up your tent. I don't know how they do the check, but I just know $4.20 is just a day...

well, i see now woodridge is 16.9 miles and kinda outta your way i assume.

for cheap motel, i suggest the airport motel. definitely low budget. like $30 for a room

if you wanna camp for free, there is woodridge park on the other side of clinton lake.
it's pretty easy to find if you just drive all the way down 6th street and turn with the curve....
