Hey all, I know some folks have said on here that they don't receive the Waka emails even though they signed up for them. Today's is chocked full of info, so I thought it was worth posting so all can see.

Welcome Letter & Arrival Instructions
There is a new Ticket Exchange and Box Office location this year!
Upon your initial arrival to the festival, ALL festival patrons are required to visit our Box Office area to exchange your tickets for your wristbands and camping stickers. NOTE: The Box Office location is different this year.
The Box Office is located at the intersection of Highways 23 and 215 approximately 3 miles south of the main festival venue. We highly encourage all patrons to follow the driving directions listed below because doing so will place you right at the doorstep of the Box Office. For those of you who take the northern route (southbound on Highway 23), please be advised that you'll be required to drive past the main festival venue to the Box Office before entering the festival. Again, we encourage all patrons to follow the directions below.
So, you've bought a ticket - now what?
Purchasing a ticket to the Wakarusa Festival is only the first step. We've provided the entertainment - now it's up to you to design your vacation. With so much going on, planning before you set foot on the festival grounds is the key to having the best experience possible. You may have heard the phrase be prepared - that's our advice. Included in this letter are directions to the festival, general rules (including things you should not bring), camping suggestions for our region, an arrival and departure schedule, festival sponsors, and some great activities we have planned that we're sure you won't want to miss. And you've bought a camping pass...
Every vehicle entering the festival grounds requires a camping pass, and up to 5 people can ride in that vehicle. Not sure if you have the correct pass? Check out our guideline below:
Vehicle Type Pass Required Per Vehicle
Motorcycles, cars, vans, trucks, SUVs up to 24ft with NO trailer: Satellite, Primitive, Mainstage, Family, or Accessible
ANY vehicle with a trailer/camper: RV Unreserved or Reserved Campsite
ANY RV or DOT Class B vehicle RV: Unreserved or Reserved Campsite
Any vehicle* over 60ft in length: A minimum of 2 RV Unreserved
Passes will be required
*include any trailer/camper in total vehicle length
NOTE: ALL Vehicles with an RV Unreserved Pass will be required to park in the designated RV Unreserved Campsite. ANY and ALL vehicles that require an RV Unreserved Pass, but arrive on site with Satellite, Primitive, Mainstage, Family or Accessible will be turned around!!! NO EXCEPTIONS
Day parking is available at the Wakarusa Box Office for $5 per day, $20 for the weekend. A free shuttle is provided to transport Day Parkers to and from the main festival venue.
Important! About Satellite Camping...
For those of you camping in the Satellite Campground, you will be given two campground options at the main security checkpoint and ticket exchange: West Woods Satellite Camping or Riverside Satellite Camping.
For those of you looking to camp in a wooded area that is a short walk away from the main festival venue, choose our West Woods Satellite Camping. The West Woods Satellite Camping is located across the highway, literally across the street, from the main festival venue.
If you are looking for a quieter, more remote camping experience, choose our Riverside Satellite Camping. This will be located 3 miles south of the main festival venue near the Wakarusa Box Office, and there will be a free shuttle transporting campers to and from the main festival venue 24 hours a day. Riverside Campers will be adjacent to the Mulberry River swimming hole.
Directions
The recommended route to Mulberry Mountain is from the South off of Interstate 40. From Interstate 40, take the Ozark exit (#35) and travel approximately 16 miles to the North on Highway 23. The Wakarusa Box Office and Will Call will be located south of the main festival venue at the intersection of Highways 23 and 215.
Arrival and departure
General campgrounds open at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, June 3rd. VIP and Upgraded campgrounds open at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2nd. All early arrivals will be turned away - no exceptions. All campgrounds will close at 12:00 noon on Monday, June 7th.
When you arrive, you will trade your ticket for a wristband, festival program, and two plastic bags for recycling and trash ("curbside" pick-up will be provided daily). Please take some time to study the festival program, including the map, performance schedule, and recycling and trash policy.
Camping Comfortably: Plan for the environment
Weather in early June in our part of the country can bring surprises. We may experience mild to heavy rain, and both heat and cold in the same day (the festival goes on, rain or shine). The average high temperature in Arkansas in June is in the mid-80s, and 60s in the evenings. To prepare for such conditions, consider bringing sunscreen, bugspray, sunglasses, hats, a variety of clothing (including several pairs of socks), sweatshirt for evenings, a bandana, toilet paper, first-aid kit, plastic sheeting, and poncho/rain coats. Also, study the map in the program to know where to find water to avoid dehydration. Camp chairs, air mattresses and sleeping bags are wonderful camping luxuries. Create your own incredible experience by good planning. Bicycles are allowed, and there is ample bicycle parking.
What not to bring: Rules and regulations
An extensive list of rules and regulations can be found on the Wakarusa website, and we encourage you to peruse all of them before you leave home. Here are a few essential rules: 1. No pets allowed anywhere on festival grounds; 2. Unauthorized vending is not permitted. This includes selling any kind of beverage in the campsites; 3. No drugs; obey all federal, state, and local laws regarding controlled substances and alcohol; 4. Underage drinking is strictly prohibited. Anyone consuming alcohol must obtain a "legal age" wristband from the festival beverage stands; 5. Nitrous tanks are strictly prohibited (Zero Tolerance Policy); 6. No open fires in the campgrounds; 7. No fireworks or firearms; 8. Use only low-back chairs in the concert areas; 9. No glass containers, lots of bare feet out there (Glass containers will be confiscated) 10. No portable pools; 11. No golf carts, ATVs, or other gas/electric recreational vehicles; 12. No swimming in the ponds on property. 13. Please use the trash and recycling bags provided by the festival.
Plan for special festival events and area attractions
Performance Schedule
Yoga - From 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Friday through Sunday, festival-goers can reconnect with Big Mother through yoga at the Satellite Stage. Yoga is free and is the perfect way to prepare for an intense day of enjoyment - Wakarusa style.
Hoop Lessons - Kaivalya Hoop experts will teach and demonstrate various hoop techniques at the Satellite Stage.
Drum Circle - Tradition dictates that Wakarusians participate in the annual Sunday morning drum circle, which draws hundreds of percussionists, including performers at the festival, generating an inspirational creative energy. Sunday at 11:00 a.m., festival-goers are again invited to congregate near the Main Stage for this exciting and moving percussion experiment. Bring your own drums and beat makers, and tell your friends - we'd like to see thousands of folks taking part this year - what an amazingly positive vibe that would create!
Carnival Rides and a Ferris Wheel - located in the Revival Village. You can't miss them.
Fishing - Make sure you pack you fishing rod to cast a few in one of the on-site, stocked fishing pods. An Arkansas fishing license is required.
Disc Golf - 9 holes of disc golf - perfect for a quick round in between sets. Woot!
Recycalusa Booth - Trade in your full recycling bags for free merchandise and a chance to win tickets to Wakarusa 2011. Check out the festival program for more information.
Turner Bend - Canoe and kayak rentals are available at Turner Bend, located only a few miles south of Wakarusa on Highway 23. Contact (479) 667-3641 or www.turnerbend.com for more information. Reservations are recommended.
Costume Contest - The Friday Night Costume Party and Parade returns to Wakarusa! That's right folks, it's time to start digging through your attics, basements and storage lockers to piece together your best costume for this years' Costume Party and Parade! Plan to gather at the General Store located near the VIP campgrounds around 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening for a parade to the Mainstage where the chosen finalists will compete for big prizes!
