As PolyO has mentioned on this board before, I'm surprised they don't book the Blue Riddim Band. Good stuff, and from KC!

we have threads like this pretty much every year, when are the waka folks gonna listen and get us a ton of reggae? i'm not that impressed with Pato Banton, but Blue Riddim would be one of the most fun sets ever at Waka! homegrown midwest reggae legends! their new album's been out since...october? and i'm still listening to it pretty regularly. very awesome stuff! and it looks like their proteges RC Dub have some new stuff in the works too....
Yeah, I totally agree with this thread. This is gonna be my first Waka experience, so with that said I would love for Waka to bring in some more reggae bands than previous years. I like the California reggae, but I wouldn't mind seeing some new midwest acts as well. Common Waka surprise me!![]()
I meant you, PolyO, in reference to suggesting Blue Riddim. Corrected now.

Co-sign this thread. How about some Thievery Corporation!!!And/or Telepath please. They have a new album coming out and will likely be touring this summer.
I wholeheartedly endorse having some solid reggae acts at Wakarusa. Pato Banton wouldn't be among my first choices, but if he was there you can bet I'll be at that stage. John Brown's Body has played Wakarusa in the past and I'd love to see their return. Sly & Robbie were fun, although I'd rather see Burning Spear or Steel Pulse if I had my choice of big names. St. Louis has a very decent reggae band, The Murder City Players, who probably wouldn't break the bank...
I would like to see Thievery Corp. and/or Telepath but that discussion should be in the other artist request thread. They may dabble, but they aren't anything close to true reggae.
Push out the jive. Bring in the love.
I approve this thread. Although, I would prefer some actual Jamaicans!
I'd be okay with no reggae... just sayin.
the pimple
as long as it is not white guy with fake accent reggae then I am cool with more reggae
