    Default Chompdown 2012 - Saturday 6/2 9 a.m.

Not sure how to ask the question or who to ask, soooooo. I've been wondering what Chompdown 2012 is going to be like? Who? what? when? where? how? Why? Don't need the why but nobody gets left behind!

In fact I'm a bit curious as to the origins of Chompdown. I find it rather parallel to my own interests, and I feel like there should be a Chompdown smiley face insert called "full" or "at one with bacon".

Really a bacon-off? Also my brother owns a T-shirt/Trophy company. If there are any trophies or Tees needed I could get that done pro-bacono.

i'm sure that most folks around here would agree that the "why" is actually the best part of chompdown...search for chompdown and i promise you'll get plenty of reading material to keep you occupied
Having a wonderful time, wish I were here.

Chompdown is consistently the best part of Waka and Harvest year after year. Chompdown is love.

Yeah, the Chomp is one of the coolest things I've ever been involved with. Even though I'm always tired, hungover, and even sometimes a grumpy bastard when I get up that early, I enjoy the warm, fuzzy feeling that it gives me.

It's not exaggeration when I say that the Chompdown has been one of the best experiences (if not THE BEST) of each of my four Wakarusas. It actually *combines* live music with everything else that makes festivals magic: camping, cooking, breakfast, jamily, sharing, serving without expectations, alcohol at 9am, and bacon. The mix, it turns out, is very powerful.

It's my biggest and most-prioritized "no-miss set" no matter what.

Wowzer! the big dogs are weighing in! I knew the "why's" would draw some attention. So with 68 members how many people do you think you served last year. 2011 was my first chompdown but I was too much of a zombie to try and talk to anybody.

(grumble grumble) Bacon please (grumble grumble). And in 2010 it was like this mythical place that I kept hearing about, and by the time I found it, you were 86 everything. This year I have 3 things that HAVE TO HAPPEN.

CHOMPDOWN, and sun-up/sun-down pictures from the top, or the ferris wheel.

There will be ABSOLUTELY NO satellite stage the night b4 CHOMPDOWN.

There will be no "wondering if very many people will show up....to CHOMPDOWN".

I'm home in bed by 4 that night b4 CHOMPDOWN and that way I have a chance at my sun-up pictures.

    CHOMPDOWN cannot be stopped

    CHOMPDOWN will NOT be televised

We easily served 500+ last year. From what I remember, we had just short of that number in the sign-in book....and a lot of people forgot to sign the book.

I always try and take it somewhat easy the night before the Chomp. It's much easier to get up that early if you are in the sack by no later than 2 AM.

If you want to participate, make sure that you try and bring at least a dozen eggs. It's always the first thing we run out of. If we are going to serve another 500 people this year, lots and lots of food donations will be needed.
