Dirt cheap places are often in parts of town you might want to avoid.
Decent hotel deals can be had near the airport or downtown - I've heard of folks doing well with priceline.com
All the usual chains can be found scattered throughout town.

The biggest question is.... Why wouldn't you stay Wednesday night to see Orgone & Galactic at The Pageant??!??!?!?

^^^ Go with Priceline and use the "name your own price" feature. I stay there quite a bit and usually wind up either at the hyatt or crowne plaza for about $60. Some of the spots around the airport are the type of places where bad things happen. Shoot for the downtown area, or westport if you don't need to be close to downtown. You could probably get a room at the doubletree at westport for about $40, and they have warm cookies when you check in!

I would avoid the airport area -- hotels are pretty run down for the price you pay and it is very near some questionable areas.

There are lots of decent places in the downtown area but you may pay a little more for the proximity to the city. The suburb areas to the west of the city are your best bet, including the the St. Charles area.

If you have an idea of what route you will be traveling through our fair city, it might help us in suggesting you some choices.
