Hey everyone I'm Dana, I'm going to waka with my boyfriend and this will be our first waka. Coming from Chicago area, we'll be staying the the night in St. Louis Tue night, then we'll be getting to Waka wed, main event camping! I'm so stoked, I've been waiting for this for years!

Jennana, that's great. My hubby is a huge BBQ fan so as of last year we started a new tradition and stop in KC, MO to eat an early supper at a BBQ joint (since we drive right by it anyway) last year we did Arthur Bryants but not sure where to take him this year. Any suggestions?

Caliente you tricked me! I was going with Cali as your name. Nice! I'm Jason. I know we have a beer deal going already. I'll trade you some inflatables for one of your N'orwesterly's!

Katie = we used to make the same drive down 35 and stop in KC since it's right about half way from Minneapolis. Arthur Bryant's is a good starting point. Your other awesome KC BBQ joint is Gates BBQ. There are a few around KC and you will not be disappointed. I don't know which one I like better...they're both tremendous. I'm giving myself the munchies just talking about it......mmmmmmmmm....BBQ.

My name is Bryan and this will be my 3rd Waka appearance. I just started getting my stuff together since we're flying for the first time this year and I've got space issues to deal with. Can't wait!!
(I'll try to find a pic of me and the crew)

    Katie-

You are hitting the big chain BBQ joints and you should just to try them. But if you want what all of the local's consider the best BBQ in KC, go to Oklahoma Joe's. It is absolutely amazing. It's located in a gas station and the line will be out the door so plan on stopping for an hour at least. There is nothing you can go wrong with but I suggest the Z-Man sandwich. If you're disappointed, let me know and I'll pay you back.
You thought the party ended. What you didn't know was that it never ends, the scenery just changes.

IBD, if I'm coming from IA, then I think I will stop at the Olathe Oklahoma Joe's.
If I'm coming from OK, then I'll just get some Bad Brad's.

I agree with the Oklahoma's Joes recommendation. It is infamous and I had it and liked it. If anyone is coming through Tulsa, I recommend trying Elmer's It Be Bad for bbq. It is my favorite bbq in Tulsa.

I'm so excited to meet everyone. This is my third year, but the first year I'll be socializing with forum folks in person. I'll be wearing my badge.
