Default Waka's last year on the mountain??

I was in fayettville the other night for some leftovers, and i heard from a few different people that this will be the last year on the mountain. The talk was that it is headed back to Kansas. I find this hard to believe/ swallow. Was this just booze infused talk or is this any validity to it. I would hate to see Waka move back to Kansas especially since next year will be the 10th year, and should be special.

People were saying the same things the last two years. Probably just rumors. I doubt they would move it back to the same spot because of why they moved it in the first place. 5-0 trouble

I've heard several variations of this same rumor. The most heartbreaking of which is that this wakas last year ever. Im just ignoring them until I have proof.

Folks - These are just a bunch of rumors. We don't have plans to hold Waka anywhere other than Mulberry Mountain. It's a one of a kind venue that both the attendees and artists love.

I kind of assumed as much, but it is still good to hear it from someone with first hand knowledge. Thank you for the response. I will have to inform some people when im back down there for sUM shows this week.

I have personally talked to multiple individuals in and around the community at mulberry mountain. Including

Some sheriffs and local business owners. They are 100% in love with wakarusa. And a lot of them wait for it and

Look forward to it all year long, just like we do. It's huge for the local economy. I believe Waka feels the same way.

Hard to think that if both sides are happy, there would be any reason to mess with close to perfection!

I heard a rumor that next year it will be held on the surface of the moon... specifically on Mons Huygens.

I might even find my way there during this years festival... i know we found it last year for a bit!
