    Default VIP Potluck 2012

This is my first year doin VIP waka and saw some older threads about a VIP potluck. It seems like its something that we just throw our selfs (please correct me if im wrong) and wanted to start throwing around some ideas. Im bringing a small coleman cooking stove with a bunch of bacon n eggs. Also wanting to make a few gallons of some bloody marys to be able to easily pour.

The VIP pot luck is lots of fun. It is basically put together by VIP folks and is set up in one of the food tents.

Last year we brought larb gai that we made at home and could be eaten cold. I'm not sure what we are going to bring this year.

I'm would recommend against cooking at the pot luck as it will likely be warm and it keeps you close to the stove.

The best part of the pot luck is meeting all the other folks. Last year someone (Bob, I believe he is Beasty on the forum) made some killer vodka drinks. I think that was a great way to meet people as everyone was in the mood for a refreshing drink. I hope this helps. Less than a month to go, I can't wait!

    I'll bring cheese and sangria.

I agree that cold dishes, or simple cooking is easier.

Between getting in the gate, parked and camp set up and the time the sun goes down and the music starts on the Backwoods Stage, it can get a little hectic.

Beasty has been quiet on the forum here lately, but l'm sure he'll represent.

I'll be there too...depending on when I arrive.

A few gallons or bloody Mary's would be a bit much then if the vodka drinks are covered but will bring some easy finger foods
