Hi everybody. My girlfriend and I are camping in VIP for our first Waka. Just curious about what the usual schedule for food in VIP is like. I havent seen anything on this topic so any info is greatly appreciated. ( im trying to plan my music schedule)

They serve at normal lunch and dinner times for about an hour and a half.
There may be a line right when the chow comes out, if you go late it might be picked over and out of your favorites.

There's times when I look at the line, the food, and the music I'm missing and just head for the stage and grab something from a vendor.

The food has never been gourmet, just nutritious and filling.
There's a new caterer this year, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with, but they need to feed upwards of a thousand folks.

If you're coming Wednesday in time for dinner, there's no food service or beer, just pot luck, so bring something to share if you want to participate.
There's a post in the Group Huddle trying to get that organized.

    Welcome to Wakarusa.

Yeah I was trying to find the food times, but haven't seen it. Can you please tell me the exact times, so I can plan my schedule more precisely. Lunch 1-2:30 and Dinner 6-7:30?

The food was less than fantastic, but so are cold, smooshed sandwiches from my cooler. It's one less thing to worry about, and it frees up packing space, which is nice. Seems to me it was served at noon and 5 last year.

If I remember correctly lunch was from about 11:30 - 1:00 and dinner was from 5:00 - 6:30. There was enough time to get some food and not too much music.

Two years ago we thought the food was very good.

Last year we thought the food was underwhelming and supplemented it with some vendor food. I think this year we will make some beef jerky so we will have enough food if we aren't happy with the catering.

I hope its actually good this year around because I'm counting on the meals along with some granola, jello, string cheese, fruits, and some salsa and chips.

You should be fine bringing along those kind of things to supplement the VIP food.
