This may be completely off topic but I just wanted to thank the Wakarusa forum for bringing together two lost schoolmates!

After lengthy conversation and investigation... Beelee9 and i realized we used to be friends - we even went to Elementary school together in TX.

I never kept in touch with anyone when i left in 5th grade - and now, 12 years later we cross paths on the waka boards.

The ol' Waka forum does magical things, BrienM. There have been marriages, divorces, people lost, people found, people changed (not sex-changed, necessarily) and all other manner of cosmic magic as a result of the convergence of thousands of weirdos on the Innarwebs planning their weirdo trip to to the weirdo Arkansas mountains.

That said, it's awesome that the Waka magic works its wonders once again! Better stay on your toes.....never know what might happen.....

Okay so Friday river party! How does 11:30/noonish sound? There is a dip in the barb wire that separates riverside camping from the river. Its always had a rug thrown over it to. If you cross that and just walk straight to the river that's as good of a spot as any! (plenty of shade and space to put ****) I'll bring plenty of beer and and an iHome. Don't forget your bacon badges!

Friday around noon is as good a time as any! We will also have booze, a camp stove, and lots of smiling faces!
- And I'm never taking off my bacon badge haha

The $100 was outside my tent one morning - i asked all of our neighbors and no one claimed it. It was in 20's and there wasn't a wallet. The sandals i found on the ground after a late night show (probably 4am?) and again, i made a point to hold them up and ask everyone around me... No takers. People don't go looking for flip flops at lost and found; they assume they are gone for good. I would gladly have returned everything if anyone had said anything.

My point is, i'm not a thief! I didn't see anyone drop the money and there wasn't a wallet... How do i go about returning that?

Why would you just assume i stole $100 out of a wallet? you don't know me.. I'm a good person.

I would never picked up anything after seeing someone drop it except to give it back to them immediately!

yea sorry man I think I phrased that poorly. I was saying the guy who grabbed your cash and ran was a thief. I found $60 on the ground at the bar a couple months ago, and I was about to leave but ordered another beer to wait and see if a person came by looking around for money to give it back. But if I hadn't taken it, somebody else would have, and that person would very unlikely be the owner

Yes, thank you Waka gods and forum for reconnecting me with a childhood friend from 12 years ago! I knew I'd meet some cool and helpful people on here but I never expected to run into someone from that long ago. Def one of the coolest things that has ever happened to me. So we'll see y'all at the river party!
