I thought it was at least twice as big as last year. Wasn't the stage off to theleft last year?

The crowd for Gramatik was about 5x capacity. Funny in away, unless you dont like dancing on a hill.

Im pretty sure the stage was in the same spot as last year. Bigger? Maybe a little. Double last year? I would say no, but last year was a LOOOOONG time ago...and it's a little fuzzy

Not sure how long they stuck around, but we enjoyed checking out the big group of Luna Moths chilling on the blue shade-thingy during the first day. They kinda looked like a school of Stingrays swimming in the ocean. The music down there was pretty good, too.

the only bands i caught down there were slapdash science and the floozies. slapdash science was a nice start to the fest. the floozies...i want to like them but they leave me feellin kinda meh. i'm all about live looping and duos with a drummer, but the styles of music they do just don't do it for me. and a lot of their schtick seems to rely on doing covers that the crowd recognizes, which i am not a fan of.

but yeah, the stage was nice. i wish there would've been some late night magical show like karsh kale with jamie janover last year. i would've at least caught Mouth, but i didn't wanna miss any of Tinariwen's set.

That was awesome! It's nice to see they were enjoying the show as well. Saw a guy gently pluck one and carry it around for a minute before handing it off.

    EXTREMLY EPIC STAGE THIS YEAR

I wandered into this echoing cavern of light and lazer during NIT GRIT and it was crazy. The smoke machine, the lights, the freaking projector display. Kids and adults goin crazy with glow sticks and flashing devices. I have never been to a rave, or any INDOOR party, and seeing this outdoor delightful madness was phenomenal. The slope of the hill was a little strange to dance on, but i found my sea legs eventually.

Nothing comes close to waka, when i can turn to the man/woman dancing next to me and smile, and they just smile back. Fantastic.

Killer picture. Taken on the way back from orbit on Sunday Morning.

Picture taken by James Allison. Thanks!
