That's the rumor. They are booking a bunch of 2006 shows under the name Jemp. And to add more meat to the theory, check out www.jemprecords.com. Apparently, they are going to play under this new name and play all new material.

I would make a road trip anywhere to see that if the rumor is true.

That was quick. I figured they would at least last five years apart. How does that website prove they are getting back together, by the way?
Here's to hoping.
I'm not claiming that the website is proof. I was just passing on the rumor. A friend of a friend on the inside of operations that has been pretty reliable in the past. The rumor is that a band named Jemp has been booking 2006 shows throughout the U.S. Supposedly Alpine Valley and MSG. Try doing a google search for Jemp. You'll get nothing other than and Ethiopian Med Journal and some weather info. www.jemprecords.com just seems to make things a little more interesting. Remember, we're talking about a band here that likes to play around with these subtle hints. Remember the Utica Countdown on Trey's site with no explanation.
Maybe someone should try Mike's hotline.
It's all rumors. Also, that site is just an image of an old concert they are releasing on DVD.
Bob
well i had a chance to see phish and never did so im really hoping the rumor comes true...i figured it would take a while and they would do a reunion show or whatever....hell, the eagles have done two reunion tours and the only good one in the band is joe walsh.

Even so, that New Year's Show was the shizzle. That was the same year that I saw Phish for the first time (October 1995 Municipal Auditorium, KC) and they had some great magic in the earlier years. I also saw the Millenium show, which was unreal, but I saw quite a few after that and they weren't the same.

I've got a theory that bands are only good on the way up. No matter what band you name (GD, Phish, WSP, Rolling Stones, etc), they were better before they got big.

For the most part I see your point but I'll have to say that after seeing WSP in Vegas over Halloween, they are at the TOP of their game, no doubt about it! I have been seeing them since they opened for Blues Traveler in 1991 at Benchwarmers. I also saw a couple pretty damn good GD shows in the 1990's but they were pretty few and far between. And in all reality 1997 was a pretty good year for Phish, if you consider that they really peaked in 1994 (it wasn't quite like 93 and 94 when almost every show I saw was better than the last, but at some point you can only improve so much).
I agree for the most part but I can think of some bands that have gotten pretty damn big and still made (or are making) music as good or better than their older stuff. Some examples: Tool, Primus (or anything else les claypoolish), Buckethead, Mr. Bungle, Secret Chiefs 3, anything dealing with Mike Patton, etc.I've got a theory that bands are only good on the way up.
