Thread: waka vibe?

  1. #1

    Default waka vibe?

I am going to waka for the first time this summer and am really stoked for some great music while chillin out with some great friends... I have been to bonnaroo several times and have had some epic times... Soooo can anyone tell me how the experience of waka has been and the vibe that surrounds, what sounds to be, a perfect spot for this festival. Does it compare to bonnaroo in terms of culture, art, and recreation? thanks for the help.

You're going to the right place. Waka is the best fest on land. Welcome to the forum!

One of the most friendly vibes of a festival. I have been to roo and waka and could not imagine not going to waka. You will be happy that you went to waka

having never been to Roo, can't really comment. i can say that the vibe is probably different (from what i hear of 'Roo - wish i had gone that first year). this is not quite \"nothing exceeds like excess\".

BUT any kind of experience u want, u can have at waka. i tend to go for music, so that is where i spend my time. i know others did more of the campsite thing; others did more of the freak show thing on shakedown street; while still others did more of the campin in the wood thing and swimming in the lake thing.

no matter ur vibe, it is there for you!!

I am so glad to hear you all had such wonderful times in the sunflower state in the past... I appriciate the fast feedback.. anyone have any exceptionally good experiences they would kindly share would be awesome or any must see must do's for waka would also be clutch... I know I ask a lot of questions and hopefully no explanation will do but none will be needed by the end of june but hows the night life at waka? well again much thanks.

I know you'll enjoy Wakarusa, everyone I know has. It's a much more intimate opportunity than Bonnaroo, but if you can make both, it's definately encouraged and you won't be dissatisfied

Have fun and Enjoy this incredible festi

I will tell my story of Waka...I'll be brief.

I decided to go to Waka because of all of the people I met through this forum. Thanks to a lovely girl that I met on another forum, who told me about Waka (thanks emmablue!) I started chatting with these peeps and decided to go. I booked a flight to KS and bought my ticket, and started making plans.
I found a ride from the airport to the festival on the Ride board on this forum. PANICED04 picked me up and away we went.
I spent the whole weekend meeting AMAZING people and seeing AMAZING music! The people I met at this fest are some of the best people alive! I am still seeing tons of shows with the Florida peeps I met and our family has continued to grow. We have around 30+ peeps going to this festie from FL and we're going to meet up with everybody else when we get to KS and we're gonna have a BAD ASS time! The festie was especially great for me because on top of all of the great music and friends, I was lucky enough to meet the woman of my dreams while there! It keeps getting better!

I went to the first 'roo and it was a good time, but NOTHING compares to the experience of Wakarusa...nothing.
Everyone knows that festival monkeys are shy
