Default One of the things I hate about modern day America

(*dislaimer - this is NOT by any means a shot at the Waka admins, this is a shot at overly sensitive Americans)

A thread titled \"Boobs\" was one of the most-visited threads in the short history of this board. Believe it or not, this thread actually had a few harmless pictures of, you guessed it, boobs.

Then, one day one person or a group of overly sensitive people makes the decision to click said thread. Suprise! They get a little dose of human skin. Then, they have the nerve to cry about it to the higher-ups.

Act like adults, if you are against something...troll the other 99.9% of the threads that won't raise your heart rate one bit. Don't ruin the fun of others around you simply beacuse it goes against your beliefs. Remember, you clicked on a thread titled \"Boobs\". Idiots.

Anyone else get their panties in a bind over any other fun little quirks of today's society?

Oh yeah...I am a positive person who loves live music and good friends. I just hate how damn PC our nation (that was founded by people attempting to attain true \"freedom\", remember?) has become...

    so true
like you said the admin was not at fault here
    nudity is amoral
its when you sit it next to an individuals culture and insecurities that make it uncomfortable
for all those offended, keep it and your skin to yourself
the mentality that creates an uncomfortable vibe about nudity
which in turn creates a negative vibe
is what feeds any negative vibes surrounding nudity, like
    men/ women feeling \"objectified\"
If there is anyone im pissed at about the censorship
its the self centered, insecure complainers, they should be ashamed of themseves
P.S. I hope they choose a different festival
they are the people i come to festivals to avoid

You know, I frequent about 6 or 7 messageboards on a regular basis. I don't post on all of them, but I do find the content amusing, touching, disgusting, moronic etc...but most of all, I find it entertaining.
One of the boards I post on was recently censored by management, not because they themselves had a problem with it, but because multiple complaints were coming in about the content of some of the threads. The complaints were about how some of the members were monopolizing the threads to chat about useless info and things not related to the topic that the board was originally created for.
In the case of that board, there was an influx of posts that were completely off topic, threads were being hijacked left and right, and the conversations were intertwined into and out of all of the active threads. In that case, it was the responsibility of the moderator to respond to the problem, and he did so very, very diplomatically and the hijacking all but stopped. Some board members took it personally, while others understood why it had to happen that way.
All that being said, there is still the aspect of being able to say what we want, when we want to without someone censoring our posts. I think we all understand why this happened, but we wonder why after two years of solid activity, the most popular thread(s) had to be shut down and taken away.

Randall will never be the same...we may never see luckeestars bare bosoms...we may never be able to convince other willing females to aid in the breaking up of our monotonous work days by showing us their bodacious tatas. The hairy balls of the world now must be left confined to the darkness of zipped jeans, khakis and other lower body wear...not to mention the horror of boxers, boxer breifs and tighty whiteys...don't get me started on banana hammocks. And the oddly ocurring natural phenomenon of squrrels with elephantitus will be left only to National Geographic specials and short news bits on Comedy Central.
We need release! And where do we get it? Nowhere...now. The crime rate will increase. The male eyes will focus only on sweater meat...women's eyes will focus only on trouser treats. Eye contact will become a thing of the past. We needed these outlets, and because of the prudish, the closed minded and the self centered, we are left to fend for ourselves in the real world. Please, look into your hearts and find it within yourself to allow those of us with nothing better to do, the luxury of naked flesh and hairy beanbags.

Thank you for you time. The fact that you read this is proof that the Boobs thread is missed.

    And oh yeah, Hairy Balls.

But we really miss the Boobs thread.

    Thanks again.

    In we trust.

Soul~you have such a great insight to things & a wonderful sense of humor! Thanks for voicing your thoughts so wonderfully! You made me smile . But......welll.....luckee's weren't the only boobs around .

I also don't like when some'one' or a few complain about something that they aren't being forced to look at or listen to. Yes, some of the things said & shown in the boobs & balls threads could be found offensive, but no one meant any harm to anyone with the postings. It was clear by the titles what those threads were about. Ipersonally don't see the problem with boobs. I love mine! Everyone has them & it's our culture that makes them bad. I don't mind showing mine. But, I also realize not everyone wants to see them & so be it. That's their choice. I do understand the position of TeamB on these \"controversial\" threads....they are put in a lose/lose position, but overall have to do what they think is best for the community. To me, it's as simple as any book bans or pulling things off TV....if you don't agree with it or want to see it, you have the choice of reading the book or watching the movie. Don't force your ideals on other people.

I'm impressed by the community on this board. For the most part, people are very kind & understanding of each other. It's reading posts like djshawn's, brad's and soul's that make me smile. Thanks!
BIG hugs! *trying to figure out how to post an ever-so-small, teeny-tiny, boob shot with this post!*

I love your Kirk picture Tink...good stuff...

One of my buddies that owns a bar here in Manhattan recently spoke to Kirk and I got a kick out of his sense of humor throughout this trying time...

This is from the email I received:

Hey, everyone. I just talked to Kirk and he wanted me to let everyone know that he is feeling strong and confident. He described his situation as \"a minor setback\" and added that he will be back on stage soon. He also noted that \"cancer is ****in' expensive\" and that he appreciates everything that his friends are doing for him.

Thanks djshawn. I took that photo of him in Wichita at the Split Lip/DeWayn/White Ghost Shivers show (can't think of the venue right now). I've been meaning to send the pics to those guys. There were some other good ones too. That was one of the best SLR shows I've ever seen!!! I'm glad you shared that email....I can't seem to get his situation out of my mind, so hearing some first hand news is really appreciated. If you hear anything else, could you let me know? I'd really appreciate it!
