shady camp'n
Me and my partner are going to be arriving at Clinton state park Tuesday night to enjoy what the park has to offer, partake in the festival, and then leave the following Tuesday. Will early birds be able to take advantage of shady camping? Also, Can we set up camp that early in the week, stay for seven days or so in one spot?

I kept looking at all the hiking trails and thinking, wow that looks nice too bad I won't have any time to enjoy anything but the music. Getting there a day or two early sounds like a great idea to me, if its allowed.

You will have to pay the park for camping on Tuesday, Wednesday, and the following Monday. Your ticket will only cover the camping for the fest. Also, don't camp in upgraded or premium sites. Unless you pay for that site for the fest, you will be asked to leave the site.
I don't know if anyone would make you break down camp and get in line the 1st day of the fest. I hope that you could just drive out with your car and get in line. After tickets are checked, return to your camp. This is how I have seen it done at other fests. I just don't know if it will be ok for Waka this year.
TeamB, what do you guys think?

I'm guessing if you want to get there early, it won't be a problem, but I would think that you won't be able to set up camp where you will be camping during the festival, unless you have upgraded or premium camping. I think that it is probably the parks' (can't think of the word) on non festival days to camp at a designated camping spot. I don't think you can just pitch a tent anywhere (I could be wrong though), so that means you won't be able to pitch a tent along the tree lines where they will be parking cars. Hopefully this makes some sense.
Enjoy your time at Clinton Lake, it is a great place. I had some killer \"trips\" out there in HS. You'd be amazed at some of the crazy creations people have made out in those woods and along the trails.

We are currently working on a system for an early camper ticket check. No one will be forced to break down their camp as long as they are not in an upgraded or premium spot that has already been reserved by someone else. (But we'll try to make sure that you don't end up camping in one of these spots) More details will be forecoming so stay tuned.

I will be purchasing premium camping again this year. I heard on sale date is sometime in March.
I am planning on starting my vacation alittle early, so i will start camping on the saturday before will I be able to get the spot i want then or will i be in a different area. I know I will have to pay the state park fees for all days that festival ticket doesn't.
