[quote:c256bafa20=\"ajones6\"]That's what really ruined the idea of shakedown- some people don't understand the concept of \"low key\".[/quote:c256bafa20]
Q4T! Just because one thinks something shouldn't be illegal doesn't make it legal.

yeah...the hassles suck. i remember walking down shakedown back to camp one day and was in mid conversation with my friend matt when some crusty ass kid on the side of the road was begging for money for his friend who got pinched.
as he was asking for money we both ignored him and kept walking. after we pass him i hear him say, \"thanks for nothing, asshole\" so i stop and let him have it. i was really pissed off. first of all, my money is mine and i'll do with it what i want. if i can afford to give a handout i will, and i have. second, it's takes alot of nerve to call someone an asshole when i was just walking along back to camp. if i had to stop & defend myself to all the folks that asked for handouts along the way at shows/fests i would never get anywhere.
this kind of behavior breeds and festers when there is a shakedown plus all the other negative things mentioned here. keep it away from Waka.
^^^ i agree! its even worse when someone comes to your campsite and wants to bum a beer from you or something, you'll make that mistake only once. gave a dude a beer one year and he settled right in, finally had to pretend to leave before dude would leave
Hey ElectroHEAD - that was me you azzhole!
Just kidding! But i think we have all had the hustle tried on us at least once. Sometimes, theres just no graceful exit like \"No really, get the **** outta here/away from me\".

I figure if you can't even afford a cheap azz beer for a buck, you got no need to be at a fest. I am one that enjoys the shakedown vibe that you don't get in the set up vending area. I guess it comes from all the dead shows I enjoyed. The shakedown was where you bought and sold stuff and I miss Jerry and the feelings of dead shows. I also understand that wookies can suck and venders pay big $ to set up. I guess I want it all. HUMMMMMMM a kind grilled cheese sounds kind good right about now! :P
