Default Anybody got any bat repelent?

We've had two separate bats in our apartment on two seperate days in the last week. Yuck!
Don't get me wrong; I like them when they're outside eating mosquitos and other bugs, but I do not like them in my home! It just freaks me out seeing them flying around in the house and I feel like they're going to get stuck in my hair. I know, total irrational girl thought.

How are they getting in? I've seen large, plastic owls work for swallows and pigeons. If you could find where they are getting in and put a plastic owl in that location, you might have some success.

However, bats have poor eyesight, so it may not work at all.

Glad I could be such a great help

Googling it suggests that not much is effective.

I remember as a kid playing a game...maybe called \"chuckin' rocks\"? Whatever..anyways...bats would always follow the socks - thrown in the trees - and it was so fun!

My BFF, at the time, (Ha!) broke out the window of her mom's car with a \"sock\" and it was HILARIOUS!

Hey kids...do not drink and post...

Its a bad combination for me - due to a good combination of Patron tequila and LOST energy drink!!

    Sorry for any confusion.

Take a pair of stinky old nylons...wave them in the air near the bat. It will immediately go for the nylons and become stuck. Release bat in enemy's car.

Nylons do not have to be stinky.

We tend to leave the door to our balcony open so the cats can come and go as they please, but I think I'm just going to leave the window open from now.

I like the nylon idea Bog. Sounds better than my dive to the floor and scream at Jeff technique that I've been using.

The funny thing about this is dana just asked me if this would actually work.

I had a bat in my apartment once and when I went to get it in my pillowcase it landed on the dartboard and hung right on the bullseye part of it. Smart bat. And it sure made it easy to catch.

    garlic and a crucifix.....

    oh wait...that is for vampires....

but you might want to hang some of those up....just incase

i hear there is a uprising of the undead lately in your area
    zombie deer and mutant bears....
i can't see how vampire bats would be to far off.

but if you do become a vampire...the benefits are awesome...party all night...and leaving great hickeys
