Post Franklin County Preparing For Wakarusa

They mention wanting to alleviate traffic congestion and then go on about possible sobriety checkpoints. I'm all for public safety, but I think a sobriety checkpoint would slow traffic to a stop.

    man... that sux.

"numerous sobriety checkpoints along the highway."

I don't like the sound of that one bit
I mean... of course I'll be sober on the way there on wednesday afternoon, but I don't want those cops seeing my long-haired, bearded self and think they should take a look through my car.

But, as groovepuppy mentioned, their gonna slow traffic down so much, that plenty of folks will be backed up behind each other, so they probably won't spend too much time with each individual car.

I don't mind them making sure everyone gets there safely - as long as it doesn't bog down traffic or is used as an excuse to step on people's liberties.

Please travel safe and smart!!! There will be plenty of opportunity for non-sobriety once you're at camp.

i sure hope peeps know that they shouldnt be drinking and driving anyway. if you dont drink or indulge in anything else then you shouldnt have a problem with the law. the troopers main concern is to get that traffic moving. wait till you get into waka to get weird.

"If they have things in there that they can't handle we will go in and we will enforce the law,"

Hopefully this isn't as ominous as it sounds. I just have a bad taste in my mouth from past years I suppose. This isn't kansas though, of course.
